Fantastic fully equipped duplex apartment (non smoking), located on a private country club development close to old Estepona on the New Golden Mile just west of Marbella. Whether it is access to wonderful golf courses, or close vicinity to the beach this is the place to choose. The true jewel of the urbanisation is its clubhouse. The apartment is very well maintained and has private terraces, secure underground parking with communal swimming pools set within landscaped gardens. There is also 24 hour on site security and cameras.
There is hot and cold air conditioning and a security system. The property is situated between the charming old town of Estepona and the lovely Puerto de La Duquesa, both only about 5km /3 miles away. Cosmopolitan Marbella (great for shopping) and the dazzling Puerto Banus (great for people watching) are only 20 minutes away by car and the lively resorts of Fuengirola and Torremolinos are within easy reach by car, bus or taxi. Membership of ‘Albayt’ (The Costa Galera Country Club) is 35 Euros per day or 70 euros per week A Club House which is one of the most complete on the whole Costa del Sol and, which offers you excellent installations and services. We recommend you visit www.albaytcountryclub.com Over 950m2 space for sports, health and beauty, your well-being and to spoil your senses. Located on the ground floor of the Clubhouse you can access by stairway or by elevator.
The beauty centre is divided in two areas; at one side you will find the UV cabins, the fitness room and the classroom for group lessons. On the other side you will find the thermal area which we divide in a relax zone equipped with six heated lounge chairs and the actual thermal zone with 3 pools, one for swimming at 31ºC, one for tonification at 12º and one hydro massage pool at 36 ºC with incorporated Jacuzzi, a bubble chair and an area with hydro massage chairs
Information about the complex
The development has 8 outdoor pools (one of which is right next to our apartment). Two of the pools have large chiringuitas (pool bars), these offer hot and cold food and a vast array of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, complete with service to your loungers. The country club, known as Albayt, is a truly magnificent complex which boasts features including indoor heated pool, a health spa which offers facials, hydro-therapy treatments and aqua-therapy showers, a fully equipped gymansium, a tranquil relaxation chamber and a large lay-back Jacuzzi pool, not forgetting the yoga and aerobics classes. There is also an on-line, email, and fax equipped reception, beautifully laid out restaurant (with large alfresco terrace) which over looks the golf course.
On site there is a golf academy and driving range. Golf clubs are available to hire from the on-site pro shop within the country club itself and a range of green fees are listed at reception for numerous courses located in the area, including the PGA tournament course at Valderama. There is tuition available on the Costa Galera course, for driving and putting, from the 1997 PGA tour coach. Golf clubs can be hired from the pro shop within the country club. The reception can help book any of the fantastic and well known courses close by (Finca Cortestein - Volvo matchplay course, Valderrama, Las Brisas, La Duquesa, La Reserva de Sotogrande)

Conditions
Towels and linen are included. Apartment cleaned at the beginning and end of stay. Additional cleaning and laundry services can be arranged at the cost of the occupant. Beach towels are not included. 24 hour on site security. Secure underground parking. Security system. No Smoking or candles in apartment - restricted to terraces only. Not accessible for wheelchairs. The whole complex and area is child friendly. Our apartment is fully managed by an English property management agent who lives on the resort complex. All those that have stayed with us consider this to be a big benefit

The Costa del Sol region


Located next to the coastal town of Sabinillas, about 10 minutes west of Estepona and 20 minutes East of Gibraltar. The property is situated between the charming old town of Estepona and the lovely Puerto de La Duquesa, both only about 5km /3 miles away. Over the last few decades, the Costa del Sol has become one of the world’s most popular holiday destinations. Its pleasant climate, numerous beaches and Golf courses have certainly influenced this. There are countless places to visit and things to do which make it one of the most successful tourist areas.
Other places of interest within easy striking distance include: Ronda, Benahavís, Mijas, and many of "the white villages".
Andalucia cries out to be explored with its rolling countryside, olive and citrus groves, mountains and Europe´s most Southerly snow ski resort in the Sierra Nevada, less than 2 hours drive away. Add to this historic cities like Seville, Granada, Cordoba, Cadiz and so many more, plus the Mediterranean and Atlantic beaches and you will need to visit more than once!
The Estepona / Albayt Costa Galera Country Club area
Situated less than 500 metres from a local unspoilt secluded beach. If you prefer something more lively, the beautiful beaches of Playa del Cristo, Estepona and La Duquesa are only a 5 minute drive. Likewise Sotogrande, Puerto Banus and Marbella are only 10 - 15 minutes away by car.There are several attractions close by to interest the whole family. Selwo Safari Park in Estepona with its animals roaming semi-wild is a great day out as is the Zoo in Fuengirola. There are also 2 Water Parks closeby, one in Mijas Costa one in Torremolinos. A great day out is a visit to Gibraltar, (but don't forget your passport) where you can take a tour of 'The Rock' and have close contact with the Apes. For the more adventurous, you can also take a day trip to Morocco on the fast Ferry from Algercias. There are at least 40 golf courses along the coastline. Closest to the apartment are Estepona and Duquesa, both within a 5 min drive and reasonably priced. The famous Valderama course is only 15 mins away.

These include Casares, Ronda, Mijas, Selville and Granada to name but a few. The nearest Mercadona (supermarket) is in Sabinillas, which is approx 1km away. Here you will find just about everything you need at very reasonable prices. There is a lovely restaurant in the Country Club itself which has an excellent menu and is very reasonably priced. About 200m away there are two very nice restaurants, Spanish and Italian. A 5 min drive in either direction will take you to Estepona or Puerto de la Duquesa where you will find numerous restaurants, bars and nightclubs etc. We recommend that you hire a car when visiting the Costa del Sol. A taxi into Estepona or Duquesa can be ordered through the Country Club reception. Estepona is approx 5km (3 miles) away.

The most popular method of travel to the region is via flights to either of the local airports of Malaga,Gibraltar or even Jerez (although this is about 1.5 hours drive one often gets cheap flights from Ryanair)
Approximately 25 minutes drive from Gibraltar (40km)
The excellent toll road from Malaga, which will cost 10 euros, should take approx 50 minutes (95km) and is a very pleasant drive taking in views over the whole coast line on the way and the surrounding countryside.

Just to say a big thank you for all you did to make sure that our recent stay at Costa Galera went well. We had a wonderful time, the boys loved choosing which swimming pool to visit and having the playground so close by was ideal for our little one. In the summer of 2010 our family stayed at the condo in the Estepona area
for a week during our month-long stay in Spain. Our thoughts and comments are
very positive indeed and we will be happy to offer personal explanation for our
enthusiasm. Why?
Location and Facility
In addition to views from the roof of the Med and sumptuous mountainside
fields, views from every room offered indescribably bucolic beauty evocative of the
film "A Room with a View". Together with beatiful terraces on all sides, a small
grill, and a pool just out the door, and satellite tv in English and Spanish
(it was World Cup after all!), it was a couple of days before we could tear
ourselves away to visit nearby Gibraltar, Morocco, the White Towns, Granada
or the beaches... Fortunately we're not golfers so we didn't have to use the
driving range just behind the back yard! Of course the place had a nice
kitchen plenty of bathrooms and sleeping for our party of 6. Well appointed and
comfortable, it was a pleasure to return to after a hard day of touristing
or madcap driving.
The Deal
The price was reasonable and more so as cleaning is INCLUDED with the
price. No surprise, and a much better value than many places we have stayed over the
years.
Contact
Both the owner and the local contact (Greg) were tactful, and extremely
helpful at all times even with our incredibly obtuse selves. Whether it was help
with getting the right channels for the Cup games, where to get stuff for
the fridge on the weekend, or a great place to eat, they were also the ONLY
folks who gave straightforward directions. Thats right, Directions. We followed
them, and they were neither ambiguous nor wrong, no roads no longer in
service or with the wrong number of roundabouts, no incorrect exit number... We did
not have to consult a gps, map or ask for help.
Locale
There are loads of quaint places for a tea or espresso, bocadillo or cervesa
-and the area populace was the warmest and most relaxed of all the places we
visited. Despite being easily accessable, it is over a rise and away from
any traffic or activity and breathes the air of the open Med, and the mysteries
of the Mountain Gods. You can shop in nearby Estepona with its quaint
oceanfront main drag, or find many helpful suggestions from the locals on what to do -
secrets of the region you (and WE) will never forget.
We have visited so many places, and there are yet many places still to visit
for the first time; but this one was the first one we already have marked to
visit AGAIN.

We had a fantastic holiday at Neil's apartment. The apartment is very well
equipped and perfect for a family holiday. The location next to the pool is
also great, but with several other pools to chose from, the kids had loads to
chose from. The onsite SPA & Pool Bar were also great and very convenient. Overall
a great holiday and we look forward to returning next year.

We had a brilliant time at your place in Costa Galera. The location was excellent and we made use of the pool at the clubhouse, the playground on the hill, and the Chiringito(?) round the corner. We spent most of our week at Christo Beach in Estepona, which was also near our friends house. The beach is great and only 5-10 mins from your place. This property was as advertised - a well run complex with excellent landscaping and caretaking throughout. The apartment itself has all that you need - fully functional kitchen, lots of balconys (3) and indoor space. We had two adults and two small children joined by my parents and we had lots of space. You will be spoiled for choice of swimming pools (one right on your doorstep) with our favourite one being by the restaurant/pool bar. You will definitely need a car as it is a good 10 min drive into Estepona where you will find a great harbor and old town with lots of plaza's and restuarants to choose from. A great location for the family, not in party central of town. There is also a good playground right across the street from the apartment. Neil, (owner) is very accomadating and even arranged for a baby cot for us. This lives up to its rating - you will not be disappointed.
Our holiday was super.
Thanks Neil for letting us stay in your house. We found everything we needed. Over the day we mostly went to the beaches nearby, loved the bars on the beach and got good food for fair prices – than back to the apartment relaxing at the pool. The weather was good – we spent all days at the beach went swimming and the day with clouds and rain we went to Cadiz, which was a nice trip.
The most we liked the “emptiness” of that arear and the Albayt Club at that time of the year. Still nice weather, warm enough, most bars open and all the long beaches just for us….that was very relaxing.
Thanks again and maybe we will contact you again I the future for another stay.
