With it's communal gym, in -door heated swimming pool, Sauna and steam facilities and computer / internet access Mar Azul is a beautiful and beautifully looked after apartment complex with it's beach front location next to Kempinski Hotel, Laguna Village and Puro Beach. Surrounded by an amazing selection of good cuisine and golf courses all a short drive or walk away. There is a fully staffed reception and this is where you would come for your internet access and where the twenty four hour security staff are based next to receptions is a stunning lounge and terrace that overlooks the 'Asian Water Garden & infinity swimming pool ' and on a clear day you can see Morocco shimmering on the Mediterranean sea in the distance.

The beach gate at the bottom of the Asian Water Garden gives you direct access to the beach and a few minutes walk away is the Kempinski Hotel and all of it's water sports and the new Laguna Village full of designer boutiques and Puro beach, here you can go for a sunbathe on one of the beach beds or just visit for a drink, lunch or diner

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region

If you're feeling the beach is fine but not all the time our luxury Estepona apartment offers this with a dollop of socialising, shopping, visiting Puerto Banus for a drink at one of its many bars and restaurants or if the urge takes you having a gamble at the casino or even dancing at one of the many night clubs on offer. Marbella's Orange Square is well worth a visit to do some holiday shopping. Thirty minutes from Gibraltar Airport or one hour from Malaga Airport or two and a half hours from Jerez Airport ideally situated on the beach front next to the Kempinski Hotel, Lagguna Village, Puro Beach and Carrefour’s a five minute drive down the road for all your food supplies. Your also in driving distance to visit many places of interest like Rhonda Gibraltar Tarifia Malaga and Granada to name but a few for the younger kids Selwo Safari Park Crocodile Adventures Tivoli World Acquasplash Dolphin Safari from Gibraltar and Whale watching in Tarifia are just a few of the activities on offer with in driving distance.

The name marbella is synonymous with the jet set life style – lavish homes beautiful people and stylish living but the real star attraction is the unique microclimate, giving 320 days of annual sunshine. Mar Azul is ideally situated on the new golden mile between Marbella and Estepona with two prestigious golf courses of Los Flamingos and El Paraiso are just a few minutes away. Other activities in the area are tennis, horse riding too many to mention or if you feel like a slightly less stressful activity yacht watching in Puerto Banus from one of the many restaurants and bars on the port front.

How to get there

1 hour's drive from Malaga airport, 45 minutes drive from Gibraltar airport and 2 hour drive from Jerez airport.
We can arrange transfers to and from the airport to the apartment; however, car hire is recommended to get the most out of your holiday.

Easyjet are now flying from Gatwick to Gibraltar and Ryanair fly from Stanstard to Jerez if your looking for alterative flights to the Costa del Sol.

The apartment is furnished and equipped to provide you with a luxurious home from home experience, by providing all the utilities required for the perfect holiday and being clean and comfortable. We provide stylish place settings for 12 people, enough to let the dishwasher get full or invite guests to join you!! We have bought the most comfortable top quality mattresses for the kings-size and single beds and for extra comfort we have also provided toppers and bed protectors. Fresh white top and bottom sheets are provided with a winter or summer quilt. An air conditioning system that actually works - for the long hot summer days and if its not so warm heating, no need to worry about the cold marble floors as an under tiles heating system is also provided with individual controls for each room. The marble main bathroom has his and hers sink with heated non-steam mirrors next to the hydro-massage walk in shower and an extra large Jacuzzi bath. The kitchen also reflects the rest of the apartment being integral with granite work tops, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, fridge/ freezer, eye level oven, electric hob with an extractor above and micro wave are all provided and I have even added a breakfast table and four stools for a quick bite to eat before popping out. The iron and ironing board are in the hot water tank cupboard. The lounge has a 32 inch flat screen TV connected to sky and a DVD CD and MP3 player (so bring your ipods! and connectors!). All in front of a large comfortable sofa bed, which can easily be folded back to a sofa during the day time. The windows and sliding doors have mosquito nets fitted. The apartment has two terraces which are covered by the terraces above but means you can use them all year round even when it’s raining it’s a short stroll through the Asian gardens and water features to sunbathe and swim around the infinity poolside .The terrace leading from the lounge has a modern smoked glassed table and six matching chairs for dining out and is the deal size for playing family games which we provide in the apartment for you. The terrace leading out from the main bedroom has a comfortable outside, two seat sofa with two matching arm chairs and a large coffee table this is where when I am staying in the apartment you will find me drinking a glass or two of the local wine and my husband reading the latest novel! Or playing Backgammon together as we are keen players!!

Further details outdoors:
It is hard to describe how amazing the outside area of this complex is. I am going to start from the main entrance and work from Reception to the Beach. Enter the reception area through the glass rotating doors and you will find a haven of cream, gold and pale turquoise tranquility with an indoor water fountain. To your right there is a reception desk with a receptionist and security guard who will be holding your apartment key card.
Just past this area is a stunningly smart lounge and bar area furnished in velvet, silk and deep mahogany which can be for personal use or as a business meeting area, there is a communal computer room adjoining but this might need to be booked in advance.. If you we now return back to the lounge and step out on the sunny terrace from here you will have a picture perfect view of the terracotta complex with it’s stunningly designed Asian water gardens and infinity swimming pool. On a clear day you can see Morocco and the Rock of Gibraltar across the simmering Mediterranean sea. You then walk down some steps and walk though the gardens and water features with stone benches to rest on and stone Asian artwork is dotted all around you. The infinity pool winds around the garden with secluded sunbathing areas and water Jacuzzis a bridge goes over the swimming pool and will take you from one side to the other side of the complex, there are also two sun huts with comfortable seating to relax and play board games in and just by the gates that would take you to the beach is a juice bar only open during high season. If you go through the gates to the beach you can stroll along the sand to the Kempinski Hotel, Lagguna Village and Puro beach. Stroll the other way and you’re a five minute walk to Alcazaba beach which also has a beach restaurant open from Easter to end of September in the more traditional Spanish style open to non residents as well.

It's really hard to express in words how amazing it is to swim in this infinity pool until you have actually done so yourself !!!

This is a none smoking apartment.

Smoking is only allowed on the terrace ashtrays are provided.

Children under the age of 14 have to be supervised around the out door swimming pool.

In-Door heated pool children under the age of 18 must be supervisded by an adult as this is an un staffed area.

Gym No children under the age of 12 and children between 12 and 18 must be supervised by an adult.

Dogs must be kept on leads at all times in the communal areas and are not allowed around the swimming pool areas.

Please only park on our designated car parking space number T12 in the under ground car park.

If guests are arriving the same day guests are leaving please vacate apartment by 10.00 hours and if you are arriving you will be able to gain entry into apartment by 16.00 hours local time. These times are flexible

Conditions

LINEN AND CLEANING
If you are staying in the apartment for one night to seven or eight nights the apartment will be clean and ready for your arrival with beds made up with fresh bed linen a bath towel and hand towel per person as well as a bath mat in each bathroom also two tea towels and an oven glove in the kitchen also an extra blue bath size towel per person will be found in the bedroom wardrobe as an extra towel that can double up as a beach towel.

For nine to thirteen night bookings a sur charge of £50 will be added to your invoice to allow you to have a quick mid stay clean and change of linen half way through you holiday, see below for full details of a quick mid stay clean.

If you are staying for two weeks a free quick mid stay clean and change of linen will be provided. Beach towels will only be provided once on a two week stay but they can be placed into the apartment washing machine during your stay at any time you wish to wash them during your holiday. In the summer because we use a top and bottom sheet on the beds the quilt covers are not changed until the end of your stay.
Quick mid stay clean and change of linen will be seven days after you arrive. They will be at 11 o’clock in the mornings. The house keeper has a set of keys to let herself into the apartment to do the quick mid stay clean and change of linen so it is up to you if you are in the apartment or not when the house keeper arrives. The house keeper will leave you a note on the dining room table if the mid stay clean time or day is going to be different from 11.00 hours

If the sofa bed is being used the linen and towels will be found neatly folded in the wardrobe of the second bedroom. Quilt and pillows and bed protector will be found in the storage area of the sofa bed. The prices shown are for up to 4 people in the apartment per week.

Cot and high chair hire. Two blue towels will be left out for the baby/ toddler and no white towels. Cot linen is only provided once but can be put into the washing machine and tumble dryer any time during your stay. Optional extras available free of charge baby bath, changing mat, toddler table and two chairs plus a selection of plastic crockery and cutlery and a hand blender to make baby food.

EXTRAS
We offer a range of extras such as white over sized towelling robes, welcome food shop, airport transfers, cot and high chair hire.
Price list will be sent by email when you make your booking.

BOOKING AND PAYMENT
Payment is due in full immediately if booking within two months of departure
If booking more than 8 weeks from departure then please send us £150 to secure booking and the balance two months before departure.
We also add on a £100 per week damage deposit which is fully refunded on your return.
Booking forms are sent to you once a booking has been confirmed via the internet
Map and directions are emailed to you once booking has been confirmed
We have a managing agent house keeper in Spain who looks after the apartment any problems he is there to help.

Two bed roomed apartment sleeps 4, prices are based on occupancy of four persons sharing in the two bedrooms but will sleep a maximum of 6, with four in the two bedrooms and two extra on sofa bed. The prices shown are for up to 4 people in the apartment per week. The apartment can sleep up to six people using the queen size sofa bed. High chair and travel cot are available to be booked at the time of booking a small service charge of 25 pounds per week will be applied. If cot and high chair required please add to house keepers section of the booking form at time of booking. Toddler table & two chairs , baby bath, changing mat, plastic beakers, plates bowls and cutlery also available free of charge.

I can take payment and refund damage deposits by internet banking or if you prefer by cheque.

Please add £100 or 145 euros per week damage deposit, totally refundable on your return.

Total payment required from two months before renting date.

Holding deposit for booking prior to this date is £150 or 225 euros which will be deducted from total price of booking when the final payment is made which is two months before.

Guestbook for Mar Azul

Hi Caroline,

We all had a lovely week at Mar Azul. The apartment is beautiful, very clean, comfortable and secure. Paco’s airport transfer service was great. He was really friendly and helpful. He helped us at reception to get the keys and made sure we got right into the apartment with our luggage. He also arrived in plenty of time for the return journey.

It was great to have the shopping in for us when we arrived and the robes came in very handy for our evenings on the terrace. The kitchen was a dream to cook in and clean. The kids were delighted with the DVD and book/games selection. I mentioned to Sue that the DVD player had stopped working on Mon/Tue for some reason. I hope she got it going again.

The complex is lovely if a little quiet but that probably added to the relaxing feel of the place. When the bar/restaurant facility opens it would be tempting to stay put for the week. We visited Estepona port a couple of nights which was very nice, also the Kempinski next door which was nice but a little pricey. We also tried Trader Vics but our favourite nights were eating in on the terrace enjoying the balmy nights.

My mother(Priscilla) was very impressed with the resort and is checking your availability chart for a suitable week in September so I will let you know about the deposit.

Dear Caroline

Firstly I would like to thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful apartment at Mar Azul. It was like home from home.... but better!

We arrived at lunch time on the Monday and to have the arrival shop there was fab... Tony and I unpacked and made lunch whilst Mum and Thomas checked out the pool! Perfect - no running out to the supermarket desperately trying to buy food on a hungry tummy!

The complex was beautifully set out and so clean! You almost felt guilty watching the pool attendant meticulously clean the pool section by section in the 30 degree plus heat... I say almost ... it never stopped me actually jumping in!!!

A fab location only 30 minutes from Gibraltar and 10 minutes from Puerto Banus! I took advantage of the market info you gave us and attended the Saturday market in Puerto Banus to add to my ever expanding bag collection (for this Tony does not thank you!)

We also went over to Benalmadena for the day and visited the Waterpark at Torrelmolinos which Thomas enjoyed! Whenever we go there we always seem to come back that day with great tans!

We ate out at Laguna village one night and enjoyed watching how the other half live at the launch of the new Maserati car, anyone with money seemed to be there! Great people watching spot!

It truly was a fantastic holiday enjoyed by all! I am just trying to persuade my manager to release next years holidays to book again!!!

We all had a lovely holiday. The apartment and complex is beautiful. Also all the staff were very polite and helpful. Mimi the security guard took good care of us when we arrived and we had a good laugh with the new bar staff!! The pool area was brilliant as the children went in the cabanna out of the sun and we could relax. The pool was a little too cold for them (or they are just soft as other kids were in there!) We only went into Estepona twice but we thought it was very nice. We also went to Puerto Banus, Gibraltar, La Canada and the El Cortes Ingles shops. We really enjoyed going into Marbella, we found it very different to how we thought it would be. Nicer atmosphere than Puerto Banus and less posing!! We had a nice meal in the Italian at Laguna Village. All the meals we had were lovely but we found that it was very expensive with the exchange rate being so poor ( had to start using the credit card after the euros were going too fast!) Malaga airport was much better than when we were there 22 years ago.
We will definitely recommend the apartment to our family and friends. Thank you for all your advice it helped us to have a very enjoyable time and hopefully we will be able to return in the future. The security cheque has just arrived. Wow that was fast!!

Hi Caroline

It is ok for you to put my email on your website. The kids watched quite a few of the DVDs : Antz, Jaws, Toy story and maybe others but I cant remember. Also Jack learned how to play chess and took the dominoes out to play with his dad while I sunbathed. They also read some of the books. Really useful to have all those things in the apartment. We only got round to looking at the heated pool and spa on the last day so didn’t get chance to use it. It looked fantastic and the girl who worked there was really nice and showed us round. Did take my gym kit with me but couldn’t find the energy to go!! Thanks again for all your help and hope to speak to you again in the future.

You really have thought of everything in the way you have furnished and finished the apartment, which makes the whole experience feel very much a home from home one. Little touches like the provision of children's books and films make a huge difference, so next time we need a holiday we wont have to pack absolutely everything as usual!

So sorry for not replying to you sooner. We have had a hectic time since we got home. Max was 1 last week, so we have had family over and a party for his little friends, which took much more organising than I expected!

Yes, we did indeed receive your cheque, and have banked it. Thank you for sending it so quickly.

We loved your apartment! As soon as we opened the door, we felt relaxed and at home. It was spotless! You have decorated it beautifully, and the bed was extremely comfortable. The pool was wonderful, and very quiet. We spent many hours relaxing there - well, as much as you can with a 3 year old and an almost 1 year old!

We had a fantastic holiday, and your apartment was key to that. We didn't want to leave! I am pleased that Sue found the apartment had been left well - we met her when we arrived a bit early, she seems lovely. I am a bit of a clean freak, and couldn't help but take great care of such beautiful surroundings!

We are already longing for another holiday, and would love to go back to Mar Azul.

Again, thank you for letting us stay in your apartment. We really did have a wonderful holiday!
