This very popular, modern apartment is located on the Costalita complex on the beach-side of the Cancelada exit. The apartment benefits from a king-size en-suite bedroom with two further twin bedrooms that share a family bathroom. There is a good sized terrace with relaxing comfortable seating that overlooks the tropical and Mediterranean gardens, plus one of the pools. The second terrace has an awning to provide protection from the sun. There is an outside dining area for up to six people. This apartment is fully air-conditioned for a comfortable stay and the lounge provides Sky television. There is also secure communal parking for a car. Costalita is a modern and well maintained complex with gardens that have rivers running through them and a small lake at one end. There are lovely walkways through the gardens, which take you down to the waterfront and beach. As an added benefit, there is 24 hour security and the development is gated.

The Andalucia region
The Costa del Sol ("Sunny Coast" or more literally, "Coast of the Sun") is a region in the south of Spain, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, comprising the coastal towns and communities along the Mediterranean coastline of the Province of Málaga. The Costa del Sol is situated between two lesser known costas: Costa de la Luz and Costa Tropical. Formerly made up only of a series of small, quiet fishing settlements, the region has been completely transformed during the latter part of the 20th century into a tourist destination of world renown.
It includes the city of Málaga and the towns of Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella, San Pedro de Alcántara, Estepona, Manilva, Casares, Rincón de la Victoria, Vélez-Málaga, Nerja, Frigiliana and Torrox. The Costa del Sol extends from the cliffs at Maro in the East to Punto Chullera in the west. Settlement in the region dates back to the Bronze Age, and has been colonised and ruled by many cultures such as the Phoenicians, Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, Vandals, Visigoths and Moors, before the Reconquista.
Costalita is a very popular urbanisation, which is maintained to very high standard. It is very well located on the beach-side of the Guadalmina exit of the A7/N340 road between Estepona and San Pedro de Alcantara. There are numerous bars and restaurants within just a ten minute walk. The beach is only a 250 metre walk through the well maintained and pretty gardens. Puerto Banus would be about a ten minute drive and Estepona is about five minutes drive.

"Lots of potential but......."
Costalita is a great development in a great place, just as described the beach is very close by as are supermarkets and restaurants.
This apartment has all the basics that you will need. However, a series of things really did spoil the experience for us. This is a ground floor apt, easily accessible but very damp in the back part (2 bedrooms), not only is it smelly but impossible to keep beds feeling properly dry, I suspect that there is very little that the management can do about this, they were very helpful in sorting out the smaller issues that were within their control. Eg. Washing machine did not work, ironing board cover needed replacing, bulbs needed replacing, no top sheets for one bedroom, dishwasher detergent compartment broken.
Apt rental rate is definitely at the top of the range for this area, I was prepared to pay this as we really love having outside space and furniture, the photos looked lovely, however, the "balcony flower beds" had not been tended and were dry and dead, which meant that the outdoor furniture was impossible to keep clean, terrace had not been swept before arrival, seat pads and cloth for table had not been cleaned in a long time and were not usable.....
Overall, this apartment simply is not worth the premium price in its current state, with a little more TLC and the damp sorted it would be good value.
