Home description
Stylish house, tranquil setting, glorious views -- ideal for golfers and non-golfers alike.
Spacious patio/terrace. Magnificent views across a countryside valley to the sea (southeast) and to the nearby Sierra Bermeja mountains (northeast). Perfect for outdoor dining, relaxing, sunning. Attractive beaches nearby.
Villa directly overlooks the 18th fairway of Estepona Golf Course -- a 5 minute drive to Estepona, with its excellent restaurants, street cafes and tapas bars, in and around a vibrant, atmospheric "old town" centre. It is also a great hub for trips further afield in legendary Andalucia, with all its cultural riches. For golfers, the club boasts the best pay-as-you-play/temporary-membership fees in the region.

The Costa del Sol/Malaga region
Wonderful nature reserves and other attractions for outdoor enthusiasts, and ideal for the culturally-minded -- a seductive window on wider Andalucia, with its melting pot of Moorish and Roman influence.
Estepona is within easy reach of picture-postcard, traditional white villages such as Ronda ( 60 km), Casares (15 km) , Gaucin (30 km), Istan (35 km), oozing pueblo charm and character, and not that far from Cadiz (150 km), Granada (215 km), Seville (230 km), and Cordoba (250 km).
Spectacular train ride to Ronda from nearby Sotogrande
Marbella (30 km) and Malaga (80 km), with their many trendy attractions. Gibraltar (40 km) is a popular and easy drive.
This part of the coast boasts 320 days of sunshine a year.
www.andalucia.com gives comprehensive review of the region, its attractions and available activities.
Estepona area
Much to enjoy, ranging from sun-drenched beaches to watching the world go by in quaint town squares, countryside walking and other outdoor sports/activities. Explore the "old town", take a pleasant stroll around the marina, or watch the fishing boats land and auction their catch at the old port.
For golfers, Estepona Golf boasts the best pay-as-you-play/temporary membership fees in the region, on a course full of wild flora and fauna, and still largely surrounded by remote, rugged countryside. (Details of golf fees, course, clubhouse, restaurant, bar facilities etc available at www.esteponagolf.com).
Favoured beaches, from the villa, would be Casares (west), El Cristo -- a lovely, sheltered cove (east), and La Rada, off the town's colourful and relaxing seafront promenade (a nice stretch for jogging). Chiringuitos, or beach bars, are open days/evenings in summer and serve very good food.
Estepona has excellent restaurants, offering international-style menus and traditional fare -- at very affordable prices.
Boating and water sports are advertised at the marina. So are sea fishing trips.
The Sierra Bermeja mountain, which dominates the landscape behind Estepona, is a protected natural reserve. (Less than an hour's drive to the top). Nearby nature reserves include the renowned Selwo and Los Pedregales.
Estepona has an impressive Equestrian Centre, and horse riding is available in the area.
Evening entertainment ranges from tapas and music bars to live Jazz and Flamenco.
Many modern shops - from boutiques to bakeries - are situated in or around Calle Real or Calle Terraza, but street markets also attract strong interest from locals and tourists alike. They are held at Estepona port and nearby Sabanillas on Sundays, and in the town on Wednesdays.
For those with an archeological, achitectural, or historical bent, there are interesting sites in or near Estepona, as well as four museums -- archeology; paleontology; farming/fishing and bullfighting -- at what is portrayed as a uniquely designed (and functional) local Bullring.
Spain's first naturist complex - Costa Natura - is only minutes' drive away (temporary membership for visitors), with a beach open to the public.
Estepona and other Andalucian towns have several festivals every year, celebrating events such as autumn harvests and fishing folklore. Those in Estepona include San Isidro (patron saint of farmers - May), Virgin del Carmen (protector of seafarers - July), Saint John's feast (beach bonfires and fireworks - June) and a summer fair (July/August).
Estepona has a top-class tourist office, with very helpful, multilingual staff.
