If instead you are looking for somewhere special - peaceful in gorgeous surroundings with only 3 apartments sharing an 8 metre pool (Heated Oct - Apr, extra charge) beautiful half-acre floral garden, table tennis, free parking, wi-fi (extra charge) and a 400-film library, then look no further.
Villa Tranquilla has been providing memorable vacations for 9 years now. We live in the 4th apartment and ensure the smooth running of the villa, keeping areas swept, pool clean and helping clients with their plans, we are never intrusive and keep very much in the background.
However, because we have lived here for 10 years, we can suggest unusual places to eat and visit that may not be mentioned in standard tourist guide books etc.
The villa suits individual travellers, couples, families and everyone in between. It is really somewhere to unwind from the pressures of the credit crunch and an often too hectic life-style back home.
The location is very peaceful with almost no passing traffic. Within a 10-15 mins walk, there are 2 restaurants; an Aldi supermarket a 5* hotel and the beach. A little further and you come across a Mercadona Supermarket and the best beach in the area as well as Estepona Port.
The apartment ideally suits a couple although we have had parents and 2 children on z-beds.
Enter via the covered terrace into the main room with a sitting area with "j" shaped cream leather sofa; TV/VCR/DVD; dining area with table & 4 chairs opening to spacious well fitted kitchen area. The room has a large sliding window to the terrace and wonderful views of the pool & sea beyond.
The bedroom is large with a sea view; king-size bed (can be divided); extra TV; writing desk; table/stool/mirror; 2 double wardrobes. Door to shower room with shower cubicle; WC; bidet & wash basin.
Just arrive, unpack and pour a glass of cava to enjoy in front of the sparkling pool. Enjoy !!!

We have tried to equip & furnish our apartment with our demanding mothers in mind. Hence the high standard of fittings.
The living area has 2 x 2 seat sofas with a view past the terrace, over the pool & gardens towards the sea. On a clear day, the Riff mountains of Morocco can be seen as well as a plethora of ships & tankers sailing towards Gibraltar.
The main bed is a king-size, but is unzippable to provide twin beds. We can also provide a fold-away bed/linen/towels at an extra cost. We also have a "Baby Pack" comprising a travel cot/baby bath/nappy changer/high chair that can be rented.
There is a shower/bidet/WC/wash basin en suite.
The kitchen is well equipped and open-plan to the main room.
The communal washing machine is located in the garage.

The villa has a 60 metre frontage and is at the end of a cul-de-sac with very little passing traffic. Even though we are only a short walk from the beach, you cannot hear the traffic from the main road. No planes fly nearby and there are no trains either. On street parking is plentiful and the gardens are well maintained. The pool can be heated between October 1 & April 30 at an extra charge.
We have agreed a 10% discount with some local restaurants, solely for our clients.
The highest point of the grounds is the "viewing area" with jaw-dropping sea views.
We have 2 x 2 bedroom apartments in the villa. The largest, "The Palm Terrace" is also on this site.
We provide jars of instant coffee; ground coffee; tea-bags; sugar; bottle of water; carton of semi milk; carton of orange juice & a bottle of cava.
We can provide the following extra services
Collect & return you from Gibraltar or Malaga Airports, supermarket stock-up (You e-mail us a full list of groceries. We buy and put away all items in your kitchen cupboards/freezer/refrigerator and provide itemised, translated receipts.
Charge is 36e + grocery costs.)
Baby sitting by qualified NNEB / CASH certificate kindergarten teacher (my daughter). 14e / hour with a minimum of 3 hours.
The Costa del Sol region
The Costa del Sol is known for its sun, sea, sand & sangria.
Most areas are very touristy, package holiday and overcommercialised with
fish & chips / union jacks / pubs all over the place.
ESTEPONA IS DIFFERENT. We searched for over a year to find the right villa
in the ideal location.
Estepona town & environs is around 90% Spanish.
There are practically no tacky souvenir shops or the "British Influence" here.
The old town is charming, quaint & delightful with cafes & restaurants spilling
onto the pavements, geranium boxes on the windowsills of the whitewashed
houses and a reasonable choice of shops & bars, nearly all Spanish owned.
The Port is still bringing in daily catches of fish that are auctioned each morning
on the quayside. This fresh fish & shellfish finds its way to the local fishmongers,
supermarkets & restaurants. The Port has a great selection of eateries & drinkeries
The area claims an average 320 days of sun which is not too far from the truth.
The town was founded over 500 years ago and although there is little standing from
that era, there are some very attractive buildings notably the Clocktower and the church
as well as the indoor market.
On booking, we will send you "A Walk Around Estepona Old Town" and other paraphanellia
to help you to plan certain things in advance. Selwo Safari Park is 10 minutes from the town centre
and well worth a visit (ask us about 2 for 1 tickets). There are 4 mini museums in the bullring that
should be born in mind if you are here for any of the 45 days with no sun.
Feastivities take place on Jan 5 (Parade of the 3 Kings); 2nd week in Feb - Carnival in town centre; Feb 28 Andalucia Day; Easter (Parade of the Virgin Mary); Mid May (San Isidrio - Saint of Farmers); Small Feria (Fair) for a week in May; June 23 Evening on the beach celebrating the cutting of St Johns moustache;
Early July is the week-long main feria; July 16 The Day of the Virgin del Carmen (Procession by the fishermen); August 15 Day of Virgin Mary - procession; Oct 12 Columbus Day (Spain's National Day); Oct 31/Nov 1 - Halloween/All Saints Day; Dec 6 Constitution Day; Dec 8-9 Saints Day (Parade through the streets); Dec 24 Christmas Eve.
And we wonder with all these festivals & days off why Spain are going through a financial crisis !!!

"What a wonderfull place"
We are just back from villa Tranquilla in Estepona and we had a great time. We both arrived realy tired, and we left refreshed and happy( well not so happy to be leaving !), thanks to Neville and Lynn… More
