The Costa del Sol region
The Costa Del Sol is well known for everything that is perfect for a sunshine vacation. The Costa Del Sol and in particular the area between Marbella and Estepona has it's own micro climate, sheltered by mountains and the coastline pulling slightly inland forming a long cove, creating all year round good weather and temperatures. The area has access to many features, such as The Rock of Gibraltar and on a clear day, the Atlas mountains of North Africa can be seen.
A short boat trip can take you to Morocco, a 2 hour drive can provide skiing or the famous "Alhambra Palace" in Granada. Closer to home are the ancient towns of Ronda and other "white" villages. The beaches, the promenades, the food, the night-life, the shopping the sea and much more provides an area which has proved popular with tourists and people wanting to retire to a better way of life for many many years.
The village of Cancelada is midway between Puerto Banus and the Port of Estepona, the house is within walking distance of the beach, lots of good restaurants and local shops in a village setting. Close by is Los Flamingos Golf course and the Villa Padierna hotel where Michelle Obama recently stayed on holiday.
The town of Estepona has a long promenade, a port and lots of individual shops and night life, and is only 10 minutes away by car. Marbella and Puerto Banus are the jewels in the crown of this whole area with fabulous Marinas and top class shops, restaurants and entertainment.
