Enquire nowThe Costa del Sol region
Estepona town is located about 3km from Villa solana and 2.5km from Estepona Port. Sotogrande is 22km with its tranquil marina. The inland whitewashed village of Casares is 11km away with its pretty artisan shops and restaurants. The Vibrant Malaga city is 75km with stunning architecture and art such as the Picasso museum located next to the Cathedral. The "trendy" Puerto Banus is 22km away with its designer boutiques and fashionable bars and of course the people watching cafeterias.
The waters off the coast of Andalucia are home to a large population of whales and dolphins and you can see them both by joining one of the many excursions offered by companies operating from various points especially from Estepona Port or La Linea. The Costa del Sol's biggest amusement park TIVOLI WORLD is located in Arroyo de la Miel, just 2 km's from Benalmádena Costa. There are over two dozen thrilling rides to choose from as well as a tiny tots section. In San Pedro you could try CABLE SKI This attraction is either for those wanting to learn or improve their water skiing it's slow for children and beginners and faster for the expert skier, perfect for those who want a fun day out. Boasting some of the hottest restaurants and night spots in Spain, the Costa del Sol attracts visitors from all over Europe. From classy fine dining restaurants with views over the Mediterranean, to the more raucous karaoke bars and all night discos, there is something here for everyone.
The Estepona area
Estepona is a small fishing village with lots of character and an interesting history, reflected by the large number of fascinating old buildings in town. However if you are more interested in the present than the past, don't worry, there is plenty for everyone to experience and enjoy.
The fishing port is located to the west of the marina. Here you can watch the fishing boats land their catch. This can take place throughout the day, but is generally during the early morning, mid afternoon, and late at night. It is not possible to buy fish but you can watch the auction process (as long as you don't get in the way) which is followed by the covering of the fish pallets with ice and loading them into the insulated vans for distribution to local suppliers. The numerous street cafes and tapas bars still serve traditional Spanish delicacies and the steep, cobbled, narrow streets seem more suited to horses than cars.
Within a 10 min drive you will find The Port of la Duquesa, which is in a tranquil area on the seafront. There you will find numerous shops and bars. Restaurants include cuisine from France, Italy, Thailand, China, India, Great Britain and Ireland as well as Spain. Estepona is well known for it's superb beaches where you can find lovely chiringuitos (Spanish beachside bars and fish restaurants) serving seafood, paellas, salads and Barbecued sardines. The beautiful coast line has 17 blue flag beaches stretching from Atalaya along to Casares and continuing through the quaint fishing village of Sabanillas and on to La Duquesa finally winding itself around the coast to the fashionable port of Sotogrande, where the waterfront is closed to traffic making it very safe for children.
In the summer there are 'Ferias' (Local village fairs) and bustling street markets throughout many of the pretty villages and towns. The "Feria"events lasts a whole week and consist of a day fair and a night fair. Both fairs give way to the rhythm of 'Sevillianas', rumbas and popular Spanish music. The whole town bursts into colour and passion which is illuminated at night with illuminations lighting up the summer sky. There is also a Sunday market at Sabanillas and Estepona Port which are well worth a visit.
