The Marrakech/Essaouira region

The city of Marrakech is the capital of the mid-southwestern economic region of Marrakech-Tensift-El Haouz, near the foothills of the snow-capped Atlas Mountains, being also the third-largest city in Morocco.

Marrakech has the largest traditional Berber market (souk) in Morocco and also has one of the busiest squares in Africa and the world, Jemaa el-Fnaa. The square bustles with acrobats, story-tellers, water sellers, dancers and musicians. By night food stalls open in the square turning it into a huge busy open-air restaurant.

Marrakech features a semi-arid climate, with mild wet winters and hot dry summers. Average temperatures range from 12 degrees celsius in the winter to 28-29 degrees celsius in the summer. The relatively wet winter/dry summer precipitation pattern of Marrakech mirrors precipitation patterns found in Mediterranean climates.

Essaouira is a city in the western Moroccan economic region of Marrakech-Tensift-Al Haouz, on the Atlantic coast. Since the 16th century, the city has also been known by its Portuguese name of Mogador or Mogadore. The Berber name means the wall, a reference to the fortress walls that originally enclosed the city.

"Absolute perfection. I miss it already!"

I loved this riad so much that I almost didn't write a review, for fear that it will become so popular that I won't be able to make a reservation next time! I had originally booked the Heure… More

"Great views, location, rooms and food"

We rented the whole villa for two couples (and when we realised there was another bedroom we offered that to our guide, who gratefully took up the offer, by the way we used Morocco Expert Tours, they were great - see them also in Trip Advisor).
The set up is ideal, each couple has a spacious bedroom with ensuite and their own lounge. The view from one of these lounges is out to sea, so we would often congregate there for drinks.
The rooftop terrace has a spectacular view out over the Atlantic.
Latifa cooked for us a couple of times in the evening, her food was very good and great value.
The fire downstairs is great if it gets a bit cool, but beware if you are not good at fires, it can get smokey if you don't get it just right.
The location is handy for restaurants and the Medina in general. As with all Moroccan Riads/Villas, don't be put off by the exterior, there is often a jewel within.

"Romantic view from your own house terrace"

Impression depends on what you are looking for. We have enjoyed a stunning ocean view from the terrace, We have enjoyed separate bedrooms with extra living room on each floor (upper floor bedroom have direct access to the terrace instead of extra living room),
We have enjoyed since that wonderful house for a few days belong to us. The fabulous kitchen goddess Latifa and her assistant every morning and evening (if they so wished) prove how great a Moroccan kitchen is. And if you're a company that needs three separate apartments, this place should be suitable for you as suited us. Of course most romantic room at the top, but the most convenient is located below.
I want to thank the owner Pascal and wish to keep the Villa Allun what we have found.
