Dar Zette is a house in the heart of the bustling medina, yet once inside the house, the atmosphere is one of complete calm and tranquility with the added advantage of a large pretty courtyard complete with olive tree and fountain. Perfectly situated for the busy souks selling spices, carpets, jewelled slippers &Thuya wood boxes with cafes and restaurants nearby and the wide sandy beach of Essaouira only a minute away. Surrounding the open courtyard on two sides, the house offers light and peace. The wide folding doors of the salon allow the ground floor rooms and courtyard to become as one – wonderful by candlelight in the evening. Built on 4 floors, the house allows much privacy for reading and sunbathing. Kilim covered armchairs, hand-painted furniture, old chandeliers and antique rugs throughout, Dar Zette has it all. .

The Marrakech / Essaouira / Essaouira Region

The climate is semi-tropical staying warm and balmy throughout the winter and a constant breeze prevents the temperature from being unbearably hot in the summer.

Essaouira / Ancient Medina area

Essaouira offers something for everyone. The beach is stunningly wide and is so long that you can walk along it for most of a day. The shore is a magnet for kite surfers from around the world and indeed the world championships are hels here.
The medina itself is a UNESCO world heritage listed city. Essaouira has a relaxed laid-back atmosphere where you can enjoy the hubub of the souk, the bustle of the busy port with its fish market, the romance of a walk along the ramparts at sunset or exploring the streets and hidden passageways of this special town.

How to get there

Fly to Marrakesh or Agadir and then either bus or taxi to Essaouira

Airlines to Marrakesh include Atlas-Blue, Easy Jet, Ryanair and Thomson Fly.

Good bus service to Essaouira called 'Supratours' which costs around 60Dh (about £3.80) and takes 3 hrs

A taxi can be arranged to meet you at the airport; these are Mercedes saloons and cost about 600Dh (about £38) and takes about 2.5 hrs.

WC, Kitchen & dining room. Salon with wide doors opening onto the courtyard with olive tree and fountain.
First Floor
Two bedrooms with shared bathroom which has magnificent double bath and WC. There is the covered terrace for quiet relaxation and contemplation in the shade.
Second Floor
Two bedrooms, each with own en-suite shower and WC. Small sunny terrace
Third Floor
Larger sunny roof terrace which is the size of the 2 bedrooms and shower rooms below; this is the area for the sun-worshippers.

Further details

Noureddine, our friend and agent, can arrange for you to be met at the airport and taken by taxi (£40 for 4 persons) to Essaouira where he will meet you to take you to the house. He will be available throughout your stay for any queries you may have and he can also take you on a guided tour around the souk. Sadir, our lovely maid, can make you breakfast and dinner on request and it can also be arranged for her to take you food shopping in the souk and then show you how to make the famous Moroccan tagine dish.

Conditions

There is a £50 breakages deposit payable with the final advance rental payment. This will be refunded (subject to no damages) within one week of your departure.
