About the home

The perfect Riad for groups of up to 10. We offer good value, clean and secure accommodation in the heart of the Medina.

"Thirty Three" is a traditional Riad built around a small central courtyard within the ancient walled Medina (old town) and is within easy reach of the many top class restaurants and bars that are dotted throughout Essaouira. We can comfortably cater for small parties and groups up to 10.

The house is arranged over 3 floors which can be separated into 2 private self contained flats (2 double bedrooms on the 1st and 2nd floors). We have light and sunny roof terrace covering the entire top floor which is ideal for private sunbathing or an evening BBQ.

The most enchanting of all Moroccan towns, Essaouira is a UNESCO world heritage site, with a temperate climate and year round sunshine. One of Morocco's best kept secrets and the perfect place to relax after the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. The town has many attractions including a working harbour, galleries and vibrant markets. With plenty to keep you occupied from Kite surfing, camel trekking or golf.

Upon arrival in Essaouira you will be met by the house keeper, Mohamed. He will get you to the house and settle you in and will be on call during your stay to help you with anything you need during your time at "Thirty Three".

Conditions

Thirty Three is an old house and in true Moroccan style is built around an open courtyard. There are many steps and hard surfaces so please ask if you have any concerns before booking.

The Marrakech / Essaouira / Essaouira Region region

Essaouira stands on a vast bay sweeping south with miles of superb sandy beach and wooded hills dominating the skyline to the east. The medina with its honeycomb of souks lends a potent mystique to the town.

The Essaouira / Ancient Medina area

Probably the best known coastal tourist town of Morocco, Essaouira is nevertheless called the windy city and is more of a town on the coast than a beach resort. The fortified harbour is a hive of activity with fishing nets laid out on the quayside, boats unloading their catches, fish auctions and stalls serving seafood sizzling on grills.

The Gnaoua and World Music Festival is held in Essaouira every June, and has been running for over 10 years.
There are around ten stages featuring various types of music: world and jazz musicians perform each evening on the stage of Bab Sebaa.

The nearest major airport is Marrakech. Daily flights direct from London to Marrakech (3 hours) with numerous carriers including BA, Royal Air Maroc, Easyjet and Ryan Air.

The journey from Marrakech to Essaouira lasts 2hr 30mins by Grand Taxi (£50-£60) or 3hr by modern coach (£6-£8).
