The property is in a rural location, approximatly 2 miles from the village of Esentepe, just off the new coastal road from Kyrenia to Tatlisu. There are several restaurants and bars within a short drive, and the nearest supermarket and butcher are in Esentepe village. The coast road takes you to Kyrenia with its ancient harbour and Crusader Knights fortress, and you can browse the busy commercial centre for those holiday bargains. Further afield you could visit the 11c ruins of St Hillarion castle and take in the spectacular views of the island.
The bungalow would provide a quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Kyrenia, and yet is a short journey by car to the main places of interest.

The Kyrenia District
The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has one of the best climates in the Mediterranean, with very mild winters,and hot summers. Spring( march/april/may) is particularly beautiful with an abundance of wild flowers. Autumn, when the sea is at its warmest, is also a good time to visit if you enjoy sightseeing. There are less crowds, and the temperatures are more comfortable.
Northern Cyprus has a very interesting history, being occupied in the middle ages by Richard the Lionhart, and the crusader knights. The harbour fortress in Kyrenia is well worth a visit, as is the spectacular St Hilarion Castle. The coastal plain is dotted with very picturesque villages and towns, and never feels crowded, you are sure to find a deserted sandy cove in which to have a relaxing picnic. looking inland, there are views of the Besparmark mountains where you can take guided nature walks.
Esentepe / Forest Golf and Beach Resort area
The KORINEUM GOLF & COUNTRY CLUB is a short drive away ( 8-10 min)and those golfers among you will find the 18 hole course very good indeed, further details about this excellent course can be found @ www.korineumgolf.com Across the road from the resort ( approx 10 mins walk) is the local fishing harbour, where you can fish from the pier or hire a boat for the day. ACAPULCO BEACH CLUB is about 12 minutes drive away, where for a small entrance fee you can use the facilities, which include water sports, aqua park, tennis and many other attractions. There is also a casino and entertainment on an evening. TURTLE BAY (alagadi) is a short drive away, this is a protected area as loggerhead and green turtles use it to lay their eggs. There is a visitor centre which operates from 6pm onwards when you can go on Turtle watching tours.The nesting season is between May to October.
How to get there
You can fly into Ercan airport with Cyprus Turkish Airlines, Pegasus, and Turkish Airlines (change at Istanbul) The resort is to the east of kyrenia approximatly 50km ( 40mins drive ) from the airport. Or you can fly to Larnaca in the south, which is approximatly 90 mins transfer time. We would highly recommend : www.birdrentacar.com if you need to hire a car, They can arrange airport transfers, or you could collect your car from Ercan airport, or have it available at the villa.

For your safety and peace of mind, we have installed smoke alarms/carbon monoxide detectors.
Further details outdoors: The bungalow benefits from a very pleasant large communal pool and landscaped gardens, The roof terrace enables you to enjoy al-fresco dining, and gives splendid all round views of the coast and mountains. As the bungalow is only a matter of feet away from the pool , we feel that it would not be suitable for very young children.
We have a reciprocal agreement with a neighboring identical property, in that if the dates you require are unavailable we would try to ensure that our neighbor would be able to accommodate your requirements.

Beach towels are not provided. There is no landline telephone at the property, We provide a nokia mobile 'phone with a charger that has a turkcell sim card, with a minimum credit balance on a pay -as-you-go basis, this can be used for local and international calls . The top-up credits can be bought at the nearest LEMAR supermarket on the way into Kyrenia,or other shops in Kyrenia centre. An optional "welcome pack" of groceries can be provided if required at additional cost.
