Crystal Bay View is a small development located on the main coastal road 3 miles from the Esentepe road. Just past the Bahceli turnoff. Unit 43 is specially pleasantly situated with a splendid mountain view from the front. Very airy and spacious it is ideally suited for relaxing on the spacious patio. Supplies and excellent local fruit and vegetables are found at Esentepe or for a greater variety in Kyrenia.
Crystal Bay View is located just after the Bahceli turnoff on the main coastal road from Kyrenia. the development is small and quiet, an ideal place to have a quiet CHILL OUT holiday. Probably not suitable for teenagers, not much night life it is however eminently suitable for young families, older couples or anyone seeking peace, quiet and relaxation.
I have spent very pleasant, days just relaxing beside the swimming pool, reading and surfing the net. The apartment has satellite TV to keep up with the news . Over 1000 stations are available but only about 20 in English.
The apartment is some 5 miles from the exclusive Korinium Golf Club so is ideally situated for that Golfing break. The weather will almost certainly allow plenty of golf. Also quite near Turtle Bay which offers excellent Scuba Diving off the coast.
The hills around Esentepe offer comfortable quiet walks although it may be too hot in the height of summer for this activity - best just to laze around the pool.
Kyrenia , some 15 miles away, offers a wide variety of shops and leisure activities. The historic old town offers a number of interesting attractions located around the old harbour and port. You may book a number of day sailings from the town and explore the northern Cyprus coastline from the sea.
But if you just want to relax, do very little but loll around a poolside then Crystal Bay View is ideal. After a week or two you will return much more relaxed and probably a little more tanned than when you arrived.
The 2 bedroomed apartment is light, airy and spacious. The country style lounge suite was purchased with relaxed informal living in style and this is the theme throughout. The main bedroom on the first floor offers a great view of the mountains . The smaller second bedroom is located off the lounge, ideal for younger children or anyone with a disability . The couch in the second bedroom converts to a large single or 3/4 size bed, allowing one or two persons to be accommodated. In total the apartment could take six people, and I have no objection to this but the facilities may be a little cramped. Of course if you are playing golf all day and just sleeping over then this may not be a problem.
Kyrenia and North Cyprus generally is a quiet area for relaxation although there is an abundance of casinos, if that is what you are into. I use the place to relax and get away from the hubbub of London.

The Kyrenia District
Kyrenia District has very warm summers, balmy spring and autumn weather and mild, though sometimes wet winters.
Kyrenia itself is an ancient town, the setting for Shakespeare's Othello and is relaxed, laid back and in many ways old fashioned in the best possible sense of the words.
No visit would be complete without a trip to the old harbour. This horse shoe shaped harbour is home to many pleasure crafts and sailing vessels. There are many bars and restaurants all staffed by friendly local people who will make you feel at home. At the other end of the harbour is the old Kyrenia castle and if castles are your thing you can visit the three castles , st Hilarion, Buffevento and Kantara all built by the crusaders during their occupation of Cyprus.
During the Spring, when the spring flowers and orchids appear there are many organised tours into the mountains.
From the harbour you can book daily sailing excursions, some with Scuba diving as a choice.
For those interested in culture you can visit the world famous Bellapais Abbey, Lawrence Durrells' house and the Tree of Idleness. There is the ship wreck museum and Othello's tower in Famagusta.
Esentepe, Kyrenia area
On heading out from Kyrenia toward Crystal Bay View you pass through the spectacular Alagadi heights.
Alagadi beach is the location for the world famous Turtle project.
There are many local events and festivals and you can get details from the North Cyprus tourist information service in Kyrenia.

Further details indoors: One of the main features is the spacious Patio area which enjoys very pleasant views of the mountains and which is great for enjoying breakfast or the evening. I should also mention the spectacular sunsets that occur almost every night in this part of the world.
You will ideally need a car. There is a bus service but services are very sporadic and this is not a realistic option. Car hire companies abound and I have a contact who charges £ 8.00 per day for a weeks hire. This will allow you to explore Northern Cyprus and also get into Kyrenia in 20 minutes.
If you just want to stay on site for your holiday then the best choice would be to arrange for a local taxi firm to collect and deliver you to Larnaca or Ercan airports.
There is a DVD player and, as mentioned Satellite TV and also radio and CD/Tape Player.
I always come back relaxed and with batteries recharged. The locals are lovely, friendly people always willing to help and make your stay as enjoyable as possible.

The apartment is immediately available for weekly or holiday rental. I will consider longer term rentals at around £325 per calendar month.
Conditions
Not happy with smoking inside the premises but quite willing for residents to smoke on the large patio. Also no pets unless agreed to beforehand.
Booking conditions are 25% payable on booking to secure the premises and also a £ 50 00 breakages deposit wiil be asked for. This will be refunded once the site agent has inspected the premises after you have left.
