About the home

The villa has a fully fitted kitchen and will cater for 8 people. Air conditioning in all bedrooms and living areas. The 8x4M pool is well-maintained and sits in a terraced area with sun-loungers, BBQ and outside shower.

Local amenities are just a couple of kilometers away with plenty of restaurants and supermarkets. Slightly further (10 mins drive) is a world class golf course and beaches where you can see turtles hatching (seasonal).

There are books and DVD's to borrow whilst staying.

The villa is well situated to explore Northern Cyprus or take a trip to Turkey using the ferry service from Kyrenia..

Meter readings will be taken at the start and finish of the letting period.Electricity up to 250 units per week is included and this is normally more than adequate for average usage providing air-conditioning and the immersion heater are not used excessively. Unfortunately it has been necessary to take this approach due to the high cost of electricity in Northern Cyprus.

Towels and Linen are included. Please do not use these towels by the pool.
High Chair and Cot are available.

Conditions

A 20% deposit should be paid at time of booking. The balance to be paid 8 weeks before arrival along with a 25% refundable deposit against breakages and damage (returned a week after your stay). Any excess electricity used over 250 units will be taken from this deposit.

Pool areas are dangerous and can become slippy when wet. Neither the agents or the owners can be held liable for activities and accidents in and around the pool. It is the responsibility of hirers to ensure that children are adequately supervised in the villa, garden terrace, patio and pool areas at all times. Hirers should ensure that they are adequately insured prior to the commencement of their stay.

The Kyrenia region

Northern Cyprus is the Mediterranean’s best kept secret, with its historical sites and secluded sandy beaches. Loved for its slow pace of life and value for money, it combines a beautiful coastline and a sunny climate all year round. Sterling and the Euro are accepted currencies in Northern Cyprus however the local currency is the Turkish Lira.

Kyrenia or as it's called in Turkish, Girne, is the closest main town with its picturesque harbour and abundance of shops. You can walk around the harbour, have a drink, lunch or dinner and absorb the beauty of this fantastic place. There are several boat trips from the harbour including a sunset trip at about 6pm. In the harbour is the 9th century Byzantine castle, which houses the shipwreck museum, containing the remains of a 4th century BC ship and its cargo.
Close to the town centre is Bellapais, where Laurence Durrell lived and wrote the classic Bitter Lemons. In Bellapais there is a 14th century Abbey, giving spectacular views over land and sea.
The Besparmak mountain range is home to some ancient castles including St Hilarion which is said to be Walt Disney's inspiration for the Magic Kingdom in Sleeping Beauty.
The District of Kyrenia has many restaurants, bars, nightclubs and casinos.
The coastline is famed for its breeding programme of Green and Loggerhead Turtles. You will find a turtle conservation area at Alagadi beach, where you can book a trip to observe the turtles laying and hatching their offspring between May and July.
The Kyrenia area is also situated in an excellent location to explore the rest of Northern Cyprus including the Karpas peninsular (with it's wild donkeys and deserted beaches), Famugusta, Nicosia and the southern area around Guzelyurt.

The Esentepe, Kyrenia area

Esentepe is located about 20 minutes east of Kyrenia. This quaint village is just 2 kilometres from the villa. The village has numerous small local bars, restaurants serving excellent food and mini-markets. The locals are very friendly and welcoming. A larger supermarket is located on the coast road, just 3 minutes drive away.

There is always something going on at one of the bars and at the beginning of June the village hosts the Apricot Festival with various events going on all week.
A short drive down the road is the Korineum Golf and Country Club, boasting a superb 18 hole championship golf course, driving range and 3 practice holes. The luxurious club house has bars, restaurants and an excellent, reasonably priced spa offering a wide range of treatments.
For cycling enthusiasts there is a way marked 230km Kyrenia Mountain trail just above Esentepe village. Cycle through beautiful pine forests, best time October to April. Alternatively cycle along the old coastal road , east of Esentepe towards the Karpas Peninsular where traffic is light. Bikes can be hired in Kyrenia.

There are a selection of uncrowded beaches and if you wish to explore further you may even find some beaches to yourself. Other activities within easy reach are Diving, Sailing, Trekking, Cycling, Fishing, Horse Riding, Go Karting and if you fancy a flutter, numerous Casinos. Within a 15 minute drive west you can have a day at the Octopus Aqua Park. If you drive east from the villa you will travel through numerous small villages, each with their own charm, until you come to the Karpas region, where you can observe wild donkeys or laze on a deserted beach.

Driving west from the villa you will pass the Golf Club on your left, various beaches on your right and come to Vogue resort and the Acapulco resort. For a reasonable fee you can use their superb beaches with sun beds, parasols and cafe bars and have access to jet skiing, paragliding and other water sports.

If you are after night-life take a trip into Kyrenia.

You can fly to Larnaca in the South (90 mins transfer) or Ercan in the North (30 mins transfer).

Car hire from Ercan airport or local companies. If flying to south transfers can be arranged through car hire companies who will either deliver a car to the villa or take you to their offices directly depending on arrival time. At present you are not able to hire a car in the south to drive into the north as hire car insurance in the south does not cover you in the north-this is why you need to get a taxi to transfer you either to their offices in the north or to the villa.

“Hot Hot Hot” We booked 2 weeks at this fantastic Villa and we were not disappiont. It is well equipped, clean and a good size. There was only three of us in our party but the property is certainly spacious enough for 8 people. Lovely furniture, comfortable beds, very much a home from home. Whilst you require a car to get around the villa is nicely positioned, with spectacular views. The weather during August was very hot so the pool was perfect for cooling down. Reasonably private, we were not over looked so could relax but we could our neighbours chatting. Not too much of a problem. We had a great holiday. Tracey was easily contacted and promptly replied with any queries. Would definately recommend.

The Vila will be available from 3pm on the first day and we request vacation by 11am on the final day. A 10% discount will be applied for each additional week, please ask for details. A welcome package will be made available at your request and charged at the price of purchase. This can include water, milk, juice, butter,bread and jam. The cost of the optional welcome pack will be taken from your deposit. Payment may be made by Cheque, Bank Transfer or via Paypal. A deposit of 20% of your rental price secures your booking. The balance is due 8 weeks prior to your arrival, together with a 25% refundable security bond, subject to any losses or damage, excess use of electricity and optional welcome pack.
