About the home
This luxurious villa is in an idyllic location and has great facilities. Take in the stunning views as you drive up the winding road to the gate and park your car in the grounds. Then you notice the fountain on your left and all around you the mature garden with its fruit trees, flowers and herbs. You go up the steps to the front verandah and enter the house.
You are now in the hall and are struck by its marble floors and high ceilings and overall spaciousness. You can see the main sitting area on your left, the stairs ahead (leading to three bedooms, two bathrooms and three balconies), the downstairs bathroom and the kitchen/garden room area on your right. You have both a sitting area and a dining area for 8 people and there is an open fireplace, a television and luxurious furniture. Leaving this room you walk across to the fully-equipped kitchen and also the garden room with its casual dining table and 6 chairs which opens on to the spacious 10x5 swimming pool with a shallow end and the BBQ area with more stunning views. The Kyrenia region
Close to Esentepe in North Cyprus is the harbour town of Kyrenia. From its main square and its main streets with its open market, shops, casinos and taverns it is a short walk to the picturesque sea front and historic castle. This is all overlooked by the celebrated Kyrenia Mountains to the north with the lights of St Hilarion Castle shining out at night-time. Kyrenia is a calming town that is close to some lovely beaches and is a good centre for exploring the whole of the north coast. The castles of Buffavento and Kantara are also close by and it is a quick drive to Nicosia, the world’s only divided capital city and a place of two cultures that it is easy and safe to traverse on foot (though do bring your passport with you). The village comes fully alive during the Apricot Festival which lasts for ten days at the end of May and the beginning of June. Be prepared for the best of Cypriot music, dance, food and hospitality. A must do, too, is Alagadi beach to the west to watch the turtle eggs hatch; nearby the Korineum golf resort also has many attractions. To the east is the very amiable Tatlisu beach with its beautiful surroundings. The climate is almost perfect. Although it can be hot in the summer and have rain in the winter, the warmth and sunshine all year round are a real treat for those of us living in the UK.
The Esentepe, Kyrenia area
Gengis's restaurant at Alkan Holiday Village is famed for its superior international food and friendly Turkish service; this is just a short walk away and it has its own beach. The villa is also only a short walk to the popular Antique restaurant (for mainly British food) and the Blue Dream supermarket (with Esentepe beach behind it). If you're feeling energetic, the village shops and restaurants are a short uphill walk of 15 minutes. Or take the car and be in a fine local restaurant in a flash where you will be ready to spend the night eating delicious local fare and making new friends. But which restaurant will you prefer? Remzi's for its family atmosphere, Tumba's for its large terrace or Augurus Evi for its Turkish food? And there others to try such as Esentepe restaurant for its incredibly low-priced Turkish pizzas or Zirdelli for its night life. Let us know which you like best. We know you'll be happy in our spacious, secluded villa with panoramic views of the Mediterranean and the Kyrenia mountains yet within walking distance of the village and sea and close to beaches, golf resort, turtle reservation, marina, Kyrenia town, Bellapais Abbey, St Hilarion Castle and great walks. It's an easy drive to three airports, Nicosia and the Karpass Peninsula. There is something to suit all tastes and all ages from relaxation to sporting activities to cultural and historical exploration to inexpensive wining and dining, all in the friendliest of settings.
How to get there
Click map icons for more information
Fly to Ercan (Pegasus is the budget airline) - Esentepe is just 25 mins from the airport. Fly to Larnaca (easyjet, Aegean, Thomas Cook are the budget airlines at the moment)- Esentepe is just 55/65 mins from the airport. Fly to Paphos- 100 mins from airport. There is a range of other airlines such as BA and Turkish Airlines. Any North Cyprus taxi (we use Baspinar for both taxis and car hire) will pick you up at any airport and leave you at the Villa. We can arrange both your taxis and car hire for you at the rates the company gives us. You can get a deal if you ask well in advance or if you are travelling outside high season. Some have hired a car directly from Paphos or Larnaca but there can be insurance or accident concerns here. North Cyprus will give you plenty to do and see over two weeks or less and the divided capital of Nicosia can be reached by car and there you can walk across the 'border' safely and easily for a really interesting experience.

We have returned to Olive Villa for a second time, and it didn't disappoint. October seems an even better month. Olive Villa has wonderful, uninterrupted sea views and a sparkling pool.... more
Once again a pleasure to have the Percys stay at Olive Villa. We particularly welcome return guests.

The Olive Villa is very comfortable indeed. It is very spacious, has wonderful sea views and excellent facilities. We enjoyed walking up to Esentepe village, eating in the good and inexpensive restaurants (don't miss Remzi's Restaurant in the main square) and visiting the many interesting places in Northern Cyprus. A great place to relax, we'll be going back to Olive Villa.
It was a pleasure to have the Percy's as guests. They looked after our Villa as if it was their own leaving it in perfect condition. We look forward to having them as guests in the near future.
