Located in the picturesque and unspoiled Lot Valley in the Midi-Pyrénées, an enchanting region between Bordeaux and Provence, that offers 10 of "The Most Beautiful Villages in France," more than any other region in all of France.
Aveyron is a unique, inspirational and timeless place. This captivating region is home to the Pilgrim's spiritual path from France to Spain, the Route of the Lords of Rouergue and the Knights Templar and Hospitaller villages, each footpath offering an opportunity to walk in history's path, revealing the heritage of the Aveyron and unlocking one's own ancient memories. A place that returns one to something authentic and restores one's physical and spiritual strength.
Places of interest include Rodez, founded in the 6th century by a Celtic tribe and home to a historic pink sandstone Gothic cathedral, with the impressive Soulages museum. Millau, the former capital of the Gallo-Roman ceramics under the Roman Empire, boasts the highest bridge in the world and the Roquefort caves, and is still considered one of the best places to buy handmade leather goods in France. Cave paintings including the Foissac caves, as well as the famous Pech Merle and Lascaux caves, are a wonderful day trip. Laguiole is not far with its famous knives and one of the top restaurants in the world, Michel Bras, with 3*** Michelin stars.
Also a region where food is sacred with delicious regional specialties including succulent Aubrac beef, lamb, duck, foie gras, local trout, pink garlic, wild strawberries and much more! Located in a picturesque wine region with a handful of wineries to explore.
The charming village is only 3 km away, designated as a "Ville Fleurie" (Village of Flowers), situated at the foot of the 12c. chateau where two rivers meet. The medieval village offers full services including restaurants, cafés, food shops, wine shop, butchers, bakers, boutiques, bank, pharmacy, doctors and post office. The village also hosts 3 weekly Farmer's Markets in July and August and 1 each week during the rest of the year. Fantastic restaurants at very good value + 7 Michelin-starred restaurants in area, including Michel Bras with 3*** Michelin stars, considered one of the best restaurants on the planet. Located in a boutique AOP/AOC wine region with wonderful local wines and delicious regional food.
For sports enthusiasts, there are 2 canoeing kayaking centers, horseback riding, lots of walking paths and hiking trails, golf and more - or just kick back on the terrace and take in the views and sound of nature.
Lots of medieval riverside villages to explore in immediate area that are completely unspoiled. Conques, a UNESCO heritage site, is quite unchanged from centuries past and is a major staging post for the pilgrims along the spiritual path.

"A beautiful property in a stunning country setting"
La Maisonnette was found to be an extremely well-appointed property. Both stylish and very comfortable it has old country charm combined with the best of up to date conveniences such as good heating for the cooler months. Hospitable hosts enhanced our thoroughly enjoyable stay.

"Most magically magnificent spot. A hidden gem"
We were absolutely blown away at the beauty of this cottage and the area and town. What a magical oasis they have created. The hosts are endlessly helpful and thoughtful. The cottage truly is like something out of a fairy tale. You drive up a little winding road in the middle of beautiful woods into the most perfect little hamlet of stone houses. The energy of the area is somehow both peaceful and energizing. The house is chic and immaculately decorated. It is spotlessly clean and full of every little extra detail you never even knew you wanted. The heated tiles in the kitchen are heavenly. The fireplace makes such a cozy and inviting place to sit and read, it was hard to leave the cottage and explore some of the most beautiful little french villages we have ever seen. We will be back again and again. It was completely by accident we stumbled upon the cottage and Such wonderful luck. It is one of our favorite place We've ever stayed, hands down!”

"The perfect experience; a real Gem."
It was by blind luck that I ended up in LA Maisonette. My first thought upon arrival was that I had accidentally stumbled into the wrong place. How did I manage to secure a place to stay that was so well appointed, and so welcoming. Rain and Lance are the perfect hosts. Always accommodating, they go out of their way to ensure a stay that exceeds expectations.

"A Charming Cottage with Breathtaking Views; an incredible stay."
La Maisonnette is beautiful designed and decorated with absolutely stunning views. The cottage has all the modern amenities one could hope for, but with its beam ceilings, hardwood floors, provincial decor and unique antiques, it preserves and embodies Southwest France. Walking near La Maisonnette feels like stepping into a storybook: the views are unparalleled, and there are vineyards and farms to see. Lance and Rain (the owners) are kind and extremely helpful, and have great recommendations of sites, restaurants, and things to see near the area. I have toured a lot of France and can conclusively say this is one of the prettiest, and one of my favorite spots. I cannot wait to return.

"Wonderful self-catering accommodation in Banroque"
Having stayed in a hotel in Entraygues-sur-Truyeres a couple of times before we wanted to find suitable self catering accommodation this time. We have! La Maisonette is very well equipped and comfortable with good wi-fi connection and full British TV together with DVD facilities including a range of DVDs. The terrace outside overlooking the Lot valley was a delight. Having discovered Banroque we shall definitely return.

The cottage was beautiful it was well stocked with everything you would need for a lengthy stay. The view and gardens were lovely there was a patio with an outdoor eating area and BBQ. The cottage and surrounding property is very well maintained, you can tell that the owners have a great love for the area. The owners were very helpful and were happy to assists us when we needed it. The rental is close to town and shopping and there was plenty of information to help us find anything we might need such as grocery restaurants and shopping. "Second to none: wonderful accommodation, beautiful location and the most considerate hosts imaginable."
We were already dedicated to this lovely part of France, but were still bowled over by this delightful cottage, its facilities and the surrounding amenities, including fantastic walks, cultural sights and pretty, 'real' villages. The owners, Rain and Lance, did everything possible to make our stay as pleasant as possible, even presented us with freshly harvested, delicious vegetables from their own garden! Their expert advice on the locality, food and wine and local practices were invaluable.
