Vallee Vue is a newly renovated, detached, south facing, single storey studio apartment just for two, with spectacular views across the valley and a view of a horseshoe bend of the River Lot. Absolutely stunning! The cottage is well screened and secluded and has its own private drive. It has grounds which include a number of sheltered glades in the woodlands above the cottage and has its own private pool and a sun terrace with outstanding views. Nightingales and woodpeckers normally inhabit the woods and red kite and short toed eagles nest nearby and can be seen circling so close in the sky.

There is a pergola with an old wisteria plant running along the south and west side of the cottage, which together with a large walnut tree, provide shaded terraces for al fresco meals when the sun gets too hot as is often the case in the Lot valley. Garden table, chairs and reclining seats and barbecue are provided.

The accommodation, which is comfortably furnished, comprises a kitchen with fitted units housing refrigerator, gas hob and microwave oven. The living area, with sofa, dining table and chairs, looks out on to the veranda and the valley beyond. Digital UK TV and DVD player are provided. At the far end is the bedroom area with a double bed and with French doors opening onto the terrace. Separate WC and shower room adjoin the bedroom area. Electric heating. Ample parking. All linen and towels and pool towels are provided.

This lovely little hideaway is 5 miles from Entraygues and only 1 mile from the delightful hill top village of Le Fel with its good restaurants and wonderful views.

The Midi-Pyrenees region

The Cantal region descends from the breathtaking volcanic mountains in the north down through gorges and river valleys. Steeped in historical interest it has an abundance of ancient sites, monuments, castles, towns and beautiful villages. It is an unspoilt region where visitors can enjoy rural life with clean air and glorious countryside yet still find plenty of activities to interest everyone of any age. The local people are friendly and take great pride in their region's heritage and are always keen to introduce visitors to their treasures whether food, drink, their way of life or the countryside.

Most of our properties are located around the medieval village of Entraygues sur Truyère nestling in the heart of the picturesque Vallée du Lot on the border of the Cantal and Aveyron. Entraygues is in the north of the department (or county) known as the Aveyron, which is one of eight in the Midi-Pyrenees. It is here where the river Truyère tumbles out of the Auvergne and joins the river Lot.

The area is geographically extreme and very beautiful with an enormous amount of views to take your breath away! The climate here can also be extreme, but being sheletered sheltered by the northern and easterly aspects of the Auvergne and Aubrac mountains, part of the Central massif, we enjoy a Mediterranean style climate with cold crisp snowy winters, stunning Springs, long hot summers (although due to the altitude night times are thankfully cool) and long spectaular warm autumns with day after day of blue skies.

Whether you like walking, driving around to explore medieval villages, more sternous activity such as canoeing or horse riding, sampling the delights of the regional cuisine there is something for everyone. All our houses have information on what to do.

With the nearest Auto route 60 miles away and the nearest railway line 30 miles little has changed over the years and the Vallée du Lot remains a haven of peace and tranquillity.
