The County Fermanagh region
Northern Ireland is renowned for its friendly people and natural beauty. The combined influences of several different cultures - the Ulster Scots, the Gaels, the Normans and the Anglo-Normans have sculpted and coloured the Ulster landscape in a particularly unique manner.
Natural beauties such as Donegals Glenveagh National Park, the Mourne Mountains in County Down, Fermanaghs Lakelands and the Giants Causeway and Titanic Quarter in County Antrim make this part of Ireland a spectacular place to visit.

"Tranquility and beauty in an irish, rolling landscape"
The Orchard Cottage is a beautifully restored house in the middle of the irish countryside, not far from the small town of Rosslea and well placesd for day trips in and around the surrounding counties. The house is so beautiful you will want to spend time in it. The house has everything you would want and more. The kitchen is fuly equipped and there is also a washroom. You can also light a fire, which is a real treat for those of us who don´t get the opportunity. It´s a really comfortable house and you feel at home straightaway, especially as the owners prepare a delicious ginger bread and stock the fridge with some basics such as eggs, milk and butter! If you are looking for an absolutely beautiful house, in the middle of the rolling, irish landscape, this is the house for you! We had an excellent time and would definitely go back again.

"Beautiful cottage with a warm welcome"
The cottage was lovely and the homebaked cake and freshly laid eggs were much appreciated. Well heated, beautiful hand built and painted kitchen and a spacious bathroom. Very nicely decorated. Ideal base for Crom Estate, Florencecourt and Castle Coole National Trust properties. Highly recommended.

"Aptly named and tremendous setting"
I booked this delightfully restored cottage with my Mum and sister. it was a wonderful stay. Hosts were friendly and above the call of duty helpful and supportive. It was an honour to have stayed in this cottage - it achieved the supreme balance of being 'oldy worldly' and meeitng all modern requirments. I am delighted to note it is open all year as we would love to return in the winter as well. A really peaceful setting, great to be out and about but also warm and comforrtable for sitting in with a book or chatting or on the net as cottage also has wifi.

"Hidden Gem. Well worth finding."
We stayed at Hidden Gem Cottage for a full week to play golf and sight see Ireland. The cottage was outstanding and Eileen & Seamus were seriously great hosts. Very friendly and very funny. Even got me drunk on the last night. Cottage had everything and was really comfy and spotlessly clean. Will highly recommend this place to family and friends, and we will be back some time in the near future. Very classy joint.

"Excellent cottage, immaculately presented, friendly and warm welcome"
Beautiful cottage, tastefully decorated and presented. It had bags of character and unique traditional features but with every modern convience. We were warmly greeted by the owners and treated more like friends than customers. I would definitely recommend hidden gem cottages to anyone looking for a relaxing and picturesque country retreat.

"What a true hidden gem- could have stayed here forever"
Myself and my husband stayed in The Orchard Hidden Gem cottage back on the 31st of October. After a hectic few months with work we were looking for somewhere unique and relaxing to put our feet up for a couple of nights. We wanted to just sit by the fire with a bottle or wine and relax. I did a quick search for cottages here on Trip Advisor and came upon Hidden Gem Cottages which looked just like what we were after so I booked. The owners Seamus and Eileen were so welcoming and helpful and we arrived to a set and ready to light wood burning stove, a warm freshly baked ginger loaf and a lovely bottle of red. There were fresh eggs and butter in the fridge and some other lovely touches such as old board games, books and also free Wifi. There are two cottages beside each other, The Orchard which we stayed in and Snowdrop next door. Both cottages have been renovated to exceptional standards and you can tell this renovation project was truly a labour of love and everything from the beams to the crane behind the fire lead to a wonderful Irish cottage experience. We stayed in Orchard, the bigger of the two cottages which had an old style kitchen, cosy sitting room, downstairs toilet, with two bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs. This cottage would be ideal for a family or party of 4/5. Seamus also showed us around Snowdrop nest door and this has also been renovated to exceptional standards and would be more suitable for a couple due to the fact it has one bedroom. The area itself is in the middle of the countryside. We were able to head off both days for a walk . There is a village just a few minutes down the road in the car where you can pick up all the essentials and there is a pub there also. which serves food. We didn't visit it so I can't say what it is like. The towns of Clones and Enniskillen are also close by if you have a car. I would definitely recommend these cottages for someone who is looking for a relaxing or romantic breakaway in the countryside and who like me has a real love for the cottage experience. We are looking forward to our return trip in the new year.
