The Enniskillen area
Area Details.
*he beautiful County of Fermanagh is a visitor’s paradise with wide stretches of island dotted Waterway and secluded bays surrounded by a patchwork of green fields, sift undulating hillsides and fresh forests. Situated in the North West of Ireland, Fermanagh boasts one of the most uncongested lakes in Europe – Lough Erne. The Erne is made up of two channels, the lower and the upper Loughs.
* To discover the true character of the Erne, charter a cruiser from one of the many hire companies and meander your way through our Lakeland paradise. Where the two Loughs meet stands the island town of Enniskillen, also known as the county town.
*Enniskillen shares close European links with Germany through a twinning relationship with Brackwede (a suburb of Bielefeld) established in 1959. There is so much to see and do from history and heritage to shopping, visitor attractions and crafts to outdoor and indoor activities – it’s all here!”
*Fermanagh is renowned for its hospitality and this is apparent by the range of social events in the county, whether it is a traditional Irish reel in one of our cosy pubs or the modern pop and dance in our more lively Nite Clubs, Fermanagh has music to suit every soul. No matter where you choose to travel in this Lakeland paradise there is something that will capture your imagination. So what are you waiting for? “Lovely cottage in a lovely location.”
Reviewed 19 July 2011
After following the very detailed directions we had been given we easily found the Garden House Cottage in a lovely quiet rural area. Entry into the cottage could not have been simpler. A lovely cottage, very comfortable and well equipped with a warm traditional country feel. We stayed with our two dogs who were also well catered for with a fully enclosed, safe, private patio area (Would also be ideal for young children). We were lucky and had fabulous weather but should you be stuck indoors just relax with the vast selection of books, videos and DVDs on offer in the cottage. If you are seeking a quiet little hideaway or an action packed holiday the location in the stunning County of Fermanagh is ideal. From walking, climbing, watersports, fishing and sailing to shopping you will find it all within a few mile radius. The location also allows for day trips to the Republic of Ireland being close to the borders of Counties Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan. The local attractions are far too numerous to list but Castle Archdale, Belleek Pottery and the Marble Arch Caves and Geopark are not to be missed.

We spent four nights at The Garden House
Cottage, and can report we stayed in a very
comfortable, well-equipped, and spotlessly
clean accommodation, which is to be
thoroughly recommended. We will definitely
stay there agin next time we visit the area.

We spent three days at the Garden House and can honestly say it was excellent. The property is in a stunning location opposite a forest, with the added bonus of a river at the rear of the cottage. The owners had provided absolutely everything required and more -- as well as essentials such as bed linen and bath towels, there was also an extensive library of books, videos and DVDs and the superb bonus of a real fire complete with peat briquettes. The cottage was exceptionally clean throughout and everything was present for a relaxing and highly enjoyable weekend. I would recommend this property 100%.

My husband and I stayed in the cottage for one week with our small dog and found it to be in a beautiful setting and very well equipped. As a frequent user of cottages in Northern Ireland, we found it to be our favourite (as did the dog, who made the most of the security of the enclosed yard). As stated above, we were very impressed and would have no hesitation in recommending to many of our friends. June and Ken Preston, Suzie the Pom, from Carrickfergus.
