The County Fermanagh region

Belcoo provides an ideal base to explore the beautiful Fermanagh Lakelands as well as Cavan, Leitrim, Sligo, Donegal and the stunning Altantic coastline. Along with many attractions one of Europe´s finest show caves, Marble Arch Caves European Geopark, is a 5-minute drive.

Belcoo is located 12 miles from the county town of Enniskillen, on the main A4 road to Sligo and 30 miles from Sligo. Belcoo is a gateway to the West of Ireland, with both Sligo and Donegal on your doorstep, stretches of magnificent sandy beaches, miles of dramatic Altantic coastline and beautiful heather topped mountains are all within a short drive.

Belcoo itself is nestled between upper and lower Lough MacNean, an ideal fishing destination as well as home to Corralea Activity Centre offering a range of both land and water based activities providing great fun for children and adults. Caving at Corralea Activity Centre was voted second best activity holiday in Ireland by The Irish Times. The Lough MacNean Sculpture Trail is another unique attraction to this area. A little further on, Lough Melvin sits on the border between Fermanagh and Leitrim and is a particularly scenic area; this Lake is famous for its fishing as well as being internationally renowned for its unique range of plants and animals.

Fermanagh is known as the Lakelands of Northern Ireland, due to the significant Waterways which dominate the County. Lough Erne runs from the Atlantic in the west down to Belturbet in Cavan; which is then connected to the Shannon-Erne Waterway where one can navigate as far as Limerick. Lough Erne itself is made of the Upper and Lower Lakes which connect in the Island town of Enniskillen on the River Erne.

This large expanse of water is a haven for activity enthusiasts, canoeing, fishing & boating holidays are just a few of the things that make this region famous. Throughout history the Waterways have always been an important part of the County's infrastructure, along which you can now see many of our well preserved historic monuments; Devenish Island, Enniskillen Castle Museums and Crom Estate are among some of the more well known features along the Lakes. You can sit back and relax on any of the boat trips which operate on the Erne system and get a full guided tour of all that you see.

Enniskillen and the Fermanagh Lakelands offer a wealth of attractions to suit every taste - historical monuments, mythical landscapes and modern museums come together to present the story of Fermanagh's waterways and people.

There are three great National Trust properties all within a short drive of Meadow View Apartment:

Beautiful 18th century Florence Court House & Gardens is a few minutes from us which makes part of a great day out being just beside the Marble Arch Caves and the magnificent Marlbank viewpoint.

Castle Coole is one of Ireland's finest Neo-classical houses, allowing visitors to glimpse what life was like in the home of the Earls of Belmore. Experience the stately grandeur of this stunning 18th-century mansion set in a beautiful wooded landscape park ideal for family walks.

Crom Estate is a romantic and tranquil landscape of islands, woodland and historical ruins and is one of the National Trust´s most important nature reserves. Boat hire available.

Castle Archdale Country is another beautiful park, situated along the shores of Lough Erne, which is abundant in historical features and also includes: a red deer enclosure, wildfowl ponds, nature trails, butterfly garden and wildflower meadow. Boat and bicycle hire also available.

Lough Navar Forest Scenic Drive provides views stretching for miles, from over the islands in Lough Erne, to the Blue Stack Mountains of Co. Donegal

Craftsmanship is an important part of Fermanagh; the most renowned is that of Belleek Pottery, Ireland´s oldest pottery, situated just 30 minutes drive from Meadow View Apartment. Make another great day out and visit Belleek Pottery, stopping to view Lough Melvin on the way; after visiting Belleek make the short drive into Donegal and take a walk along the beautiful Rossnowlagh beach and enjoy the exceptional views.

We also have 4 great golf clubs in our area. Neighbouring Blacklion Golf Club sits at the side of Lough MacNean and has been described as one of the best maintained and most charming nine-holers in the whole of Ireland. The Lough Erne Resort “IGTOA 2010 Golf Resort of The Year” (Ireland Golf Tour Operator Association) is home to two Championship Golf Courses - The Faldo Course and Castle Hume Golf Course is only a 15 minute drive. The Lough Erne is hosting the 2013 G8 summit in June.

Boasting some of the finest restaurants and coffee shops in Ireland, Fermanagh has much to offer both locals and visitors - the only difficultly will be deciding where to go! Whether you're after fine dining, a lively bistro, a pint of Guinness in a traditional setting or a relaxing evening at the theatre on the banks of Lough Erne, Fermanagh has it all. Why not get booked into MacNean Bistro, Blacklion, one of Ireland's best restaurants and enjoy all the delights award winning chef Neven Macguire has to offer and only a few minutes stroll from Meadow View Apartment.

Belcoo is also located less than 2 hours from Belfast and the Antrim Coast making it possible to take a day trip to the Giant's Cause way or the Titanic Quarter.

Meadow View Apartment, situated on the main street in the village of Belcoo, and has great views overlooking the Cottage Meadow and Lough Mac Nean which is set against the stunning backdrop of the Cuilcagh mountains.

The apartment is located over Belcoo Pharmacy with all of the staff on hand to help you including the owner Joe. Also located on the same street is a Spar Grocery Shop, Leo's Off Licence, Hair of the Dog Pub and the Custom House Bar and Restaurant. Flynns Butchers shop is located just a short walk away in the neighbouring village of Blacklion. Blacklion is also home to a number of bars and restaurants including the famous MacNean Bistro.

Meadow View Apartment allows you to walk to pubs and restaurants or to pick up all the essentials to make a home cooked meal and enjoy the views in the large modern kitchen/dining room. Across the road from the apartment is the beautiful Cottage Meadow, on the shore of Lough MacNean, with picnic tables and play park.

The apartment is not only convenient for all the essentials but provides a central base to explore the beautiful Fermanagh Lakelands as well as Cavan, Leitrim, Sligo, Donegal and the stunning Altantic coastline less than an hours drive.

Belcoo is located 12 miles from the county town of Enniskillen, on the main A4 road to Sligo. Belcoo provides a gateway to the West of Ireland.

The apartment is ideal for families, walkers, anglers, water enthusiasts or for those just looking to put their feet up in luxurious surroundings and enjoy a beautiful Fermanagh view.

Also on your doorstep and less than 5 minutes drive: Lough MacNean, Corralea Activity Centre, Marble Arch Caves, Florence Court National Trust House & Gardens, Cuilcagh Mountain Park, Blacklion Golf Club.

"This is a beautiful apartment in a lovely location. The jacuzzi bath is particularly lovely!!"

I would recommend this apartment to anyone who is staying away from home. The apartment is modern and spotlessly clean. The bed is comfortable and there are plenty of blankets and pillows etc. The furniture is lovely including the kitchen table, which is especially lovely just to sit in at night and have a glass or two. The bathroom for me was just gorgeous and the bath was especially welcome after a day out and about - don't put too much bubble bath in the jacuzzi bath though we discovered when we couldn't see anything but bubbles lol! .

If I had any issue at all it was the hob - I like to cook but I couldnt control the heating - it turned itself off and was difficult to maintain a constant heat.

Otherwise this really is a beautiful apartment and we would hope to return very soon.

"Gorgeous apartment in Belcoo"

We stayed in this apartment in Belcoo for a weekend in July. The apartment was beautiful and very clean. It was just what we wanted. Very quiet little village and all the attractions and sites within driveable distance. Would highly recommend this apartment. The owner and the staff in the Pharmacy below were very helpful and pleasant. The only downside was the weather but there is not a lot you can do about that!!
