Excellent Mosel wine – Growing at your doorstep.
The Blue House is located in the Oberdorf or upper town of the popular wine village of Enkirch. Here you can find ancient timber-framed cottages with wine-clad facades, narrow, cobbled lanes and many impressive traditional wineries. In the village you can get your daily supplies in locally run shops. One of the butchers is the best in Europe. There are lots of restaurants and wine bars to enjoy. And lots and lots of wine makers. Enkirch boasts two banks, both with cash machines (and instructions in English), garages, TV and electrical shops, bakeries, an Organic deli, gift shop, chemist and a superb Market Garden (run by our friends).Aldi & Lidl, hospitals, etc. are in Traben-Trarbach (3 km) and Zell has a Globus superstore, like Sainsburys, but better, 15 minutes away. Both very popular and beautiful Mosel towns. From Enkirch you can explore the whole Mosel region from the ancient Roman town of Trier to Koblenz, where the Mosel meets the Rhine.

"Great house in a lovely location"
We're a large family group with four children aged 8 to 15. We found this to be a very spacious house that provided an excellent base for our short break. The house is very comfortable, well equipped and well furnished. The kitchen is new and the two bathrooms both have good showers.
The third storey is just open plan with a TV and DVD so that became the games room for us. There are books and games left in the house and the sauna on the top floor is fun.
Enkirch is a very quaint and historic Mosel town with plenty of wine shops but also a sprinkling of decent restaurants.
We had a great family holiday at the Blue House and we definitely plan to return there in the future.
Pleased that you enjoyed your holiday.
