About the home

This home is perfectly positioned for much of what the Florida Gulf Coast has to offer the discerning holiday maker. It is a superb venue for two or more couples and children. In fact the owners struggle to find time there, since it is so popular with returning renters!!

Space galore, inside and out. Plenty of room to stretch out and relax by the heated (optional) pool. Sunbathe whilst watching the wildlife in and over the lake.

This home covers over 3500 sq ft.

There is a WiFi cable broadband internet connection available. Guests would need to bring an ethernet cable if they wished to connect directly to the modem. There is no charge for this facility, but we obviously cannot guarantee its operation. Our local management company are there to assist should there be any problems.

The Florida / Florida Gulf Coast region

Whichever way you drive from our location, you will come accross beautiful blue water vistas. Towards the west you will encounter the Intracoastal Waterway and the Gulf beaches. Take a drive along Manasota Key via Englewood Beach and passing Manasota Beach. Further north you have Venice Beach, and the waterways that gave this town its name.

Go north and spend a day visiting Sarasota. Main Street is worth a stroll as is St Armands Circle, which is close to Sarasota beach.

Drive east from this holiday home and you will cross the wide Myakka and Peace rivers both of which flow into Charlotte Harbour. On the east side of the harbour lies Punta Gorda, a residential town with dozens of canals.

The Englewood / Lake Marlin area

Our holiday villa is provided with local guide magazines which will describe the multitude of places to see and visit in the area. Once booked, we will provide you with a list of dozens of websites from local business's, attractions, restaurants, sporting and cultural events, boat rentals, golf courses, and much more. You can research much of what you might want to do before you actually walk off your flight.

Beaches are close (10 mins) and uncrowded. Lots of choices for the golfer. Boating and fishing opportunites are everywhere. Waterfront dining, unhurried shopping, tiki bars are all very local. If you want to drive a bit, then Sarasota can offer much in theatre and museums. Places close by and worth a visit include the "key" like town of Boca Grande on Gasparilla Island. A stroll along Venice Avenue in nearby Venice, taking in the pier and beach. Old Englewood is a glimpse of what Florida used to be. A trip over the Myakka and Peace Rivers to Punta Gorda, with all its many attractions, including Fisherman's Village and Ponce DeLeon Park, is a great day out for all.

For direct flights from Gatwick, fly BA to Tampa (TPA), which is a 90 minute drive away. For indirect flights from anywhere, fly into Fort Myers (RSW), which is 60 minutes diving time. For best choice of direct flights, fly into Orlando (MLO), which is a 2+ hours drive away. We don't recommend Miami since the drive is around 4 hours.
