The Costa Brava/Catalonia region
Empuriabrava is described as being the biggest marina in Europe, there are numerous attractions in the area, including Greek and Roman ruins at Roses, centre for parachuting, national park nearby where you can observe storks and other birds, walk for miles along sandy beaches, explore the hinterland visting Dahli museum in Figueres, pottery shops in Bisbal, and Pals. Snowboarding and skiing within one hours drive and numerous other activities.
Empuriabrava area
Empuriabrava is a marina town and has numerous bars and restaurants catering for all tastes. Saturday there is an extremely large market on the sea front extending for at least a kilometre. From the apartment the beach, restaurants and bars are all within 5- 10 minutes walking distance. Within 2 minutes walk there is a mini golf, two restaurants, local baker and small supermarket with English newspapers.
How to get there
Fly to Gerona airport and hire car or take local transport to Empuriabrava about 40k. Cheap flights available with Ryanair.
