Thank you for sharing your vacation experience with us. We are sorry that had concerns about bed bugs during your stay, and we are thankful to know that upon inspection none were found. The gentleman who visited the home for that inspection was from a pest control company who specializes in the identification and treatment of bed bugs and other pests. Unfortunately, because that gentleman works for a company outside of Emerald Isle Realty, the concerns you voiced to him about the furnishings did not get relayed to our office. Our records do indicate that our housekeeping department attempted to make contact with you during your stay, likely in response to the message you left. It is also noted that compensation was given for your displeasure. We hope that in spite of your disappointment in the home you and your family were able to enjoy your time together in Emerald Isle.

Thank you for your review of your stay at Burke Cottage. This is an older home with a bronze rating which indicates that you will find that some of the furnishings and such are dated. Still, all of our homes should be equipped to provide a comfortable, relaxing beach vacation. I'm glad your family found this space to accommodate you nicely and I hope you will return soon.

Burke Cottage actually rents often because it is affordable and also because its one of our few rentals which permits partial week stays to be booked in advance.
