Ely is located in the Fens and was home to Oliver Cromwell in 1636 . Originally an island, the area was successfully drained to produce extremely fertile farmland. With Hunstanton beach to the north, Thetford forest to the east, Cambridge to the south and St. Ives to the west, Ely is perfectly located to explore the East Anglia region.
