A beautiful 17th Century Cottage located in the heart of the Peak District National Park, this Grade II listed home provides five star luxury accommodation mixed with utter comfort and cosiness. Previously three cottages, Lawson Cottage is now one large home full of original stone features and the comforts of modern day living.
From the entrance hall, you wall into the breakfast room with the wood burner set in a large limestone heath, shuttered Georgian window, comfy sofa and TV; ideal for getting family and friends together. You are then taken through into the kitchen where the Aga provides warmth and easy cooking. In addition to the Aga, there is a summer Aga, meaning you have 4 ovens with which to play! In addition to a loo and access to the back garden, the kitchen has all the kitchenware you could need, as well as microwave, dish-washer and fridge.
In addition to the breakfast room, you also have the stylist dining room for those cosy dinners with friends. It's a great space and again, you have the wood burner, original exposed stone and large shuttered windows.
There is limestone flooring throughout, warmed with underfloor heating.
Moving through the handmade oak doors in the breakfast room, you step into the sitting room which provides true comfort. With a mezzanine level above (not open to guests), the sitting room is stylish yet cosy, having large sofas, exposed oak beams and a floor to roof fire place, this is a great space for entertaining. Again, with underfloor heating throughout, you have the large wood burner,TV, DVD and iPod docking station here to complete the entertainment options.
Off the sitting room is the Library where a double sofa bed offers you further sleeping options, privacy, space to sit and read the papers or a separate space for the kids. From here you have a stone stair case giving access to an en-suite double bedroom above.
Lawson Cottage has three double bedrooms in total, all with separate bathrooms and king or super-king sized beds. Each of the bedrooms are individually styled with original features, all with oak floors and the home comforts necessary to ensure a good night's sleep.
The private wall garden at the rear is south facing, and backs straight onto fields so is not overlooked, affording your and your guests the privacy and space you want. This typical country cottage garden has plenty of lawn and multiple seating/dining areas to enjoy the uninterrupted view over the Derbyshire countryside.
We want your stay to be exceptional, so all wood and coal is provided in the store room outside and you're welcome to help yourselves; we want you to have everything at your fingertips, rather than having to buy it in. In fact, we'll have all your fires laid ready for when you arrive.
Elton is a lovely village and has won Peak District Village of the Year a number of times. We are in the heart of the Peak and walking in the local Dales is literally on the doorstep. With a church and a local pub, we are 10 mins outside of Bakewell, so you have the best of both worlds.
Come join us and enjoy the ultimate country experience!

"A truly relaxing week"
We had an absolutely wonderful week here, both my husband and I, our two children, my Mum and Dad who stayed for part of the week and our extended family, who visited for a day, and of course our 5 month old puppy Jess. The house is beautiful and the owner Carrie is very friendly, helpful and welcoming. We are planning a return visit!
