This beautiful spacious Catalonian house in the Spanish Modernistic style was constructed in 1919 on the rests of a medieval house. It looks out on the lovely quiet Plaza Mayor in the centre of a small village less then an hour away from Barcelona centre. The house has a lot of details from the aera of Gaudí and has a lot of room, ideal for a stay with one or two families. It has high, cool rooms and the summer climate is dry as opposed to the humid city heat in Barcelona. The swimming pool of the village is a 4 minute walk away and appears often like a private pool, 50m long.
It's an unique feeling to explore the interesting Catalonian inland from the heart of a sympathetic village. A typical holiday week consists of one or two days beach, one or two days Barcelona or another city around, two days round the house in one of it's hundred corners or in the sun of the roof terrace and a daily dive in the pool. Biking or walking through the gold or green pastures around, the King's Meadows, the translation of the villages name Els Prats de Rei.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia region
Catalonia is probably the best organised part of Spain. It has a great infrastructure, a great variety of climate and a very rich and well preserved cultural heritage.
The landscape at the entrance to the Pyrenees is dominated by small rivers, hills, fields and forest, which provides excellent conditions for a variety of sports- and outdoor activities, such as hiking, horseback riding, mountain biking, angling or canoeing.
Furthermore the central location in Catalonia makes every corner of province accessible in one-day excursions. From the Dali-museum in the north, the Costa Brava coastline and Barcelona in the south and further south Tarragon with its amphitheatre and universal studios amusement park for the kids. A generous and cosy region, with true cultural, gastronomical, artistic, historical, traditional and legendary treasures. Also a region for the playful who loves sport activities.
In the winther, the ski-resorts in Andorra and the Pyrenees is only a 45 minutes drive away. In the summer you can enjoy the tracks of the Pyrenees or for the adventures paragliding or climbing.
The spring (march-may) in Catalonia is sunny, green and comfortable warm. The daily temp. reaches 16-22 degrees.
The autumn (Sep.-Nov) is very warm in the beginning (Sep.) with a daily average temp. reaching 27 degrees. October and November has an average temp. starting at 22 in October ending with 17 in November.
