The Heart of England / Peak District / Shropshire region

The Ellesmere / Welsh Frankton area
Between the famous village of Whittington – home to the first Lord Mayor of London – and the lovely town of Ellesmere, lies the tiny hamlet of Welsh Frankton. With its host of period buildings dating from Tudor, Georgian and Victorian times, the pretty market town of Ellesmere can be found nestled between a beautiful lake - or 'mere', to the locals - and the Shropshire/Llangollen Canal. Not only is the town situated in the picturesque Shropshire Lakeland, but it is also steeped in history. Originally a fortified Anglo-Saxon settlement, this quaint little holiday resort is host to the charming Church of Saint Mary, with its fifteenth Century roof, and was the home of Thomas Telford during work on the Shropshire/Llangollen Canal. With pubs, shops and restaurants nearby, this is a great location from which to explore everything this region has to offer.

First class holiday let, The owners make you feel very welcome. Good fenced in garden for dogs. A very good relaxing holiday with plenty to do on days out and good place to stop to see Shropshire. Good food at the Black Lion Hotel in Ellesmere.

All prices are inclusive of the booking fee per week or short break.
Winter Short Breaks (WSB) are available at many properties in the "Winter" period - subject to availability. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental.
Off Season Breaks (OSB) are available at many properties in parts of the "Low" and "Mid" periods - subject to availability. The price for a 3 night break is either 75% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. OSBs can be booked within a calendar month of the start date of the holiday.
"Last Minute Breaks" (LMB) are available at most properties throughout the "LOW", "MID", "HIGH", "PEAK", "XMAS" and "NEW YEAR" periods. The price for a 3 night break is either 65% of the normal weekly rental or, if it is higher, the quoted Winter Short Break price. Extra nights are charged pro rata of the weekly rental. LMBs can be booked within one week of the start date of the holiday.
