Set in the landscaped grounds of the magnificent 17th century Elie House, this beautiful villa near St Andrews is your boutique holiday home in the East Neuk of Fife, Scotland. Sleeping up to ten, Treescape offers style and luxury in a land of sandy beaches and challenging golf links.
Inside, the house is beautifully furnished and equipped. There are five bedrooms in all: one master with ensuite and king-size bed and Tempur mattress; three further bedrooms can be set-up with either twin beds or as super-kings; and a fifth bedroom with handcrafted oak bunks and full-size Tempur mattresses. One bedroom is on the ground floor and has its own ensuite. A signature feature of Treescape is the ultra-soft, very high thread count cotton sheets, while Cowshed toiletries can be found in all three bathrooms.
Every room in the house has floor-to-ceiling windows, facing either east to catch the morning rays or west to watch the sun sink slowly behind the trees.
The large lounge features a choice of supremely comfortable sofas, swivel recliners, stools and huge beanbags. The dining room connects both lounge and kitchen and seats up to ten. Everything in the generous kitchen has been chosen for the keen cook, from the Siemens appliances to the Sabatier knives and heavy duty pots and pans to the fantastic Kitchen Aid mixer.
The advanced technology includes a wall-mounted smart TV in every bedroom, a full Sky package, including sport and movies, and three Blu Ray players; one in the lounge, one in the master bedroom and the third in the bunk room.
Outside, guests have seven acres of private grounds to explore; landscaped gardens and wild woodland are a haven for wildlife and there are mountain bikes and wetsuits in the shed.
Treescape is our own holiday home and is available only when we're not here. We hope you love it as much as we do.

The Fife region
Beyond Elie lies the rest of the Neuk and the fishing villages of St Monans, Pittenweem, Anstruther and Crail. Though they all share a similar style of architecture, with whitewashed crow-stepped gables and red pan-tile roofs, each village has its own character, from bustling Anstruther (and reputedly Britain's best chippie) to picturesque Crail.
Pittenweem is famed for its annual arts festival, which takes over the town every August, while Crail has its own food festival every June, highlighting Fife's long tradition of sustainable, artisan foods.
Then, of course, there is St Andrews. Only 20 minutes away along quiet back roads, this town is a masterpiece of learning, culture, history and, of course, golf. Here you'll find the Old Course, the R&A and plenty of places to buy that new driver or cashmere sweater.
As a world-renowned university town, the constant influx of students and visitors from around the globe gives St Andrews a cosmopolitan air too, with smart bistros and restaurants, sharing the streets with funky coffee shops and cool bars.
The West Sands at St Andrews, backing onto the Old Course, is a long, long stretch of golden sand. Backed by dunes it's famous for the slow-mo running scene in Chariots of Fife, later so memorably spoofed by Mr Bean at the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Olympics.
And if you're here for a week or more, you'll find all the style, culture and history of Edinburgh is a little over an hour away.
Treescape is situated in the beautiful East Neuk village of Elie. This region has long been a favoured holiday destination, with stunning coastal walks, picturesque villages and the town of St Andrews only a short drive away.
Elie itself is a gorgeous little village, famous for its two-mile long crescent of golden sand and far-reaching views towards Bass Rock and the East Lothian coastline. The main street is home to a wonderful deli, a Michelin-starred restaurant, a great local pub and numerous gift shops, cafes and ice-cream parlours.
The Ship Inn on the harbour wall draws people from all over Fife and well beyond, for its great pub food and terrace overlooking the sea. If you time your visit right, you could be supping a pint of real ale in the sunshine while you tuck into a barbecued lunch and watch a game of beach cricket.
Ardross Farm Shop, just five minutes drive from Treescape, is one of the UK's finest with its own farm-reared beef, as well as lamb, venison, local fruit and vegetables and a great range of deli items, including a fine selection of wines and local craft ales.

"Absolutely fabulous place to stay - book now!"
Superb house & fabulous setting. The height of luxury, with everything one needs & more. Beautifully furnished. We were also lucky enough to have hot weather that weekend in Elie (first weekend of June 2013). The town is also great, visit the Ship Inn for great beer & wine, and Elie Deli for provisions. Highly recommended *****
Great to hear your positive comments. And you're right Elie is a wonderful place to be, especially if, like you, you get some hot sun! Thank you for taking the time to review, much appreciated.

"Can't wait to go back!"
We went to treescape for an extended family break during january and with 7 of us to please and with ages ranging from 7month to 60+ it was a challenge to find somewhere that would appeal to all of us but treescape did just that and more! From the second we drove up we were taken back by the stunning views. The house itself offers a contemporary yet comfortable feel with each and every item thoughtfully considered! The beds were possibly the most comfortable any of us had ever slept in which made it very hard to go home! The owners of treescape couldn't have been more helpful and considerate to accomodate our needs and we really could not recommend it highly enough!
Many thanks for your very kind words and glad to hear your whole family had a great time. We particularly liked your comment on the beds as that is a feature we've take a great deal of care over. We hope to see you again in the future.
