The impressive coastal path stretches for miles in both directions from which you may see Whales, Dolphins, Seals and other Wildlife.

There is a convenient Bus Service / Stop directly outside the house for those who prefer to relax and travel around by Bus, rather than take the Car. The property has a fabulous, private rear garden with traditional outhouses and stunning pan-tiled roof which adds to it's exceptional character.
On street car parking is available to the front of the property with no time restrictions and entirely at the owner's risk.
Bed linen and towels are provided, excluding beach towels.
Smoking is not allowed in the property.
The Fife region
There are many golf courses in the surrounding area. People who like walking, will enjoy the 'Fife Coastal Path' that will take you further down the coast or up as far as Crail.
The nearby villages/towns of St. Monans, Pittenweem, Anstruther and Crail are well worth a visit. There you can see the fishing boats and potteries and the Fisheries Museum. St. Andrews is only 15-miles away and Dundee is approximate 40-minutes by car.
There are lots of nice places to eat in and around Elie.
Edinburgh is an hour away by car.
Elie provides a range of convenient amenities such as a Bakery, Post Office, Pharmacy, Grocer, Newsagent, Delicatessen and Gift shops.
Elie boasts its own super 'micro-climate' with little rainfall and many hours of sunshine, so your day can be as relaxed or as active as you wish. Take advantage of the late evening sun and view the amazing sunsets.
Winter brings you the opportunity to take a brisk walk along the coast taking in the bracing sea air, and after, you can curl up in front of the fire and enjoy a 'warming' hot chocolate or a wee dram or two of good Scotch Whisky.
If you are looking for a base to enjoy Scottish Links Golf you will love this location. As well as Elie's 2-golf courses, the famous St Andrews Old Course is only 10-miles away. The facilities at St Andrews, 'the home of golf' are among the finest in the world comprising 7-public courses, 2-clubhouses, a 51-bay driving range, a short game area, 3-practice greens and replica bunkers.
Other links golf courses can be found at Lundin Links, Crail and Kingsbarns, indeed there are more than 30-Golf courses within a 15 mile radius.
Have a Boat Trip:
As well as miles of great coastal walks there are daily sailings from Anstruther to the Isle of May, a nature reserve run by Scottish Natural Heritage, boasting incredibly diverse wildlife, a medieval monastery and the oldest lighthouse in Scotland.
Try Water Sports:
Elie Watersports is based in Elie Harbour less than five minutes walk away and offers Sailing, Pedalos, Windsurfing, Water-skiing, Inflatable rides, Wet Suit and Mountain Bike hire. Elie's sheltered bay ensures safety for beginners while the challenges of the open sea can be found beyond the bay.
Courses are available and all are made very welcome.
There are Swimming Pools nearby in St Andrews and Leven.
Elie Sports Club is based next to Elie Golf Club and is a 5-minute walk from the house. The Club boasts
8-Tennis Courts, practice wall, 2-Golf Courses, Putting course, Driving Range, Bowling Green and 'cyber' Cafe Pavilion. Golf and tennis coaching is available for all ages and is booked through the Pro Shop next door to the Pavilion.
Go Horse Riding:
Horse riding is available at nearby Kilconquhar Castle Estate Equestrian Centre (5-minutes drive away). Kilconquhar offers treks, hacks and lessons in their all weather arena. Birthday Parties can be booked and include riding, buffet and party bags.
Places to Eat & Drink:
Elie is famous for Beach cricket and the Beer Garden of the Ship Inn is a perfect venue to watch the Elie Cricket team, who play on Sundays (www.ship-elie.co.uk for cricket and BBQ times).
If you enjoy your food there is plenty of choice as there are lots of good pubs and restaurants on offer. Within easy walking distance you will find The Station Bar and Elie Coffee Shop.
For a 'fine' dining experience try Sangster's 'michelin-rated' Restaurant which offers superb, freshly-prepared food. Sangster’s provides superior quality for every meal and every occasion and a memorable dining experience for all who expect the highest standards. 2 AA Rosettes, Egon Ronay Star. Booking is essential.
Also nearby, you can choose from the 19th Hole, the Pavilion, Harbour House, the Golf Tavern open all day serving a wide range of 'bistro' style food specialising in pasta dishes, steaks, authentic freshly cooked pizzas (takeaway also available), good range of coffees and home baking during the day.
Kilconquhar pub is a 5-minute drive away and well worth a visit..
The Ship Inn at the 'Toft' provides a varied, colourful menu and extensive wine list and is an extremely popular eating venue with the most stunning views over Elie Bay.
Slightly further afield is The Cellar in Anstruther or the Peat Inn Restaurant.
Places to Shop:
For more extensive shopping Leven has Sainsburys, Anstruther has the Co-Op. St Andrews offers a diverse range of specialist shops while fine food shopping in Elie can be found in the Delicatessen and Adross Farm Shop is 1-mile East of Elie .
Go to the Theatre:
The Byers Theatre in St Andrews is well worth a visit as is the Cinema. Dundee has the DCA and Caird Hall.

"PERFECT HOLIDAY COTTAGE IN EAST NEUK OF FIFE"
Have stayed in various holiday rentals in Elie over the years but New Haven was, without a doubt, the loveliest cottage I've rented. House and garden were as photographed. Extremely comfortable, beautifully furnished and spacious. Super size for our party of 3 couples. And two minutes walk from the beach and the Ship Inn. Will definitely book again.

"Excellent stay in Elie"
We stayed in Elie a couple of years ago and decided to return in the middle of June for a weeks holiday. The cottage was spotless and with 3 good size bedrooms and it never felt cramped for 4 adults and our 2 year old son. The garden was huge where we managed to enjoy the Elie sunshine on several occasions. The cottage is equipped to a very high standard and it felt like home from home.
The beach is only a 5 minute walk and the golf courses are a further 5 minutes along the road. St Andrews is only a 20 minutes drive and all the nearby costal villages are also worth a visit.
If you are looking for a relaxing family holiday then you can do no better than Elie and 'New Haven', hope to return again in the future.
