About the home

Springfield is the perfect location for families or couples, with the beach and forest walks of Roseisle just 3km away where you can go for walks or take your bikes along the forest trails. There are views of open farmland all around.

Springfield Croft is on one level. It has a large open plan sitting/dining room with a log fire and large brick fireplace giving a cosy atmosphere. From the hall you access two double bedrooms, which both have zip beds which allows for flexibility of either double or single beds. The kitchen is fully equipped and spacious with a dining area. At the other end of the cottage there is another double bedroom with en suite bathroom. The bathroom has a walk in shower. A utility room is also at this end of the cottage.

A large garden is great for chlldren to run around in. There is also a barbecue situated on the patio.

The cottage has a large open plan living and dining area with an open fire and wonderful stone fireplace.

Kitchen is spacious with seating for 6. Dishwasher available.

There are three double bedrooms, one benefits from an en-suite with walk in shower.

The other two rooms has zip beds in them so can be adapted to be either singles or double beds. The main bathroom has a bath with a shower over, WC and wash basin.

Separate utility room with a washing machine and freezer.

Gas central heating throughout. Electricity, gas and fuel for fire included in rent.

Large garden with permanent barbecue. Lockable shed for bicycles. Parking for 3 cars. Pets welcome

The Scottish Highlands region

The Highlands are home to a quarter of a million people living in communities spread throughout the area and this is the reason why it is such a wonderful holiday destination. It has a vibrant city as well as a good mixture of remote crofting communities and sparsely populated islands.

The Moray coast has a number of small fishing villages such as Burghead, Hopeman and Findhorn dotted along it. The beautiful countryside makes this an ideal place to live and visit.

The Elgin area

Springfield Croft is an excellent base for exploring with historic castles such as Brodie, Cawdor and Ballindalloch within easy driving distance. Fort George and Culloden, the historic battlefield is just an hour's drive. The County of Moray has the only Malt Whisky Trail in the world - 7 distilleries and the Speyside Cooperage are easily reached. For retail shopping the Johnston's Cashmere Visitor Centre is just 12 km away and Brodie Countryfare is 30 minutes drive, Baxters is also based in Moray. Findhorn is 6 miles away with excellent pubs and a wide range of water sport opportunities.

The wonderful sandy beach adjoining Roseisle Forrest is 3km down the road from the Croft. There is cycle and walking trails in the Forest. From Roseisle you can walk along the beach to the nearby coastal village of Burghead. Within 2 miles there is trout fishing lakes, quad biking and golf course.

For the golfer there is a number of golf courses within easy driving distance, Forres, Elgin, Lossiemouth, Spey Bay, Kinloss Country Club, Nairn and Nairn Dunbar are all within 30 minutes of the cottage.

Aviemore is some 45 minutes drive away with beautiful views along the way. At Carrbridge there is the Landmark centre which is a favourite with children with climbing frames, maze, water slides and you can view the squirrels on the nature walk.

Train stations of Elgin and Forres are 12 kms away and taxis are available at the stations.

By car:
From Inverness follow the signs for the A96 Aberdeen - Inverness road and drive to Alves. As you come into
Alves you take the next turn to the left, signposted Alves Caravan Park. This turning is located between the school and Cinderella Fabrics. Drive for 2.5km until you come to a crossroads, (there is a yellow cottage in front of you), turn left here (signposted Miltonhill) and you are now in Coltfield . Springfield Croft is the 5th house on the right hand side.

From Aberdeen follow the signs for the A96 Aberdeen - Inverness road and drive to Alves. You should drive into the village and turn right between the school and Cinderella fabrics, signposted Alves Caravan Park. Drive up this road past the caravan park until you come to a crossroads, approx 2.5km. You should now see a yellow cottage infrom of you, you should turn left here (signposted Miltonhill). You are now in Coltfield and Springield Croft is the 5th house on the right hand side.
