The Costa Calida/Murcia region
El Valle Golf Resort is situated int he Costa Calida / Murcian region of Spain which boasts more than 300 days of sunshine every year. The coast stretches more than 250kms and the Mar Menor is Europe's largest saltwater lagoon which enjoys seawater temperatures of 6-7 degrees warmer than t he adjacent mediterranean making it a destination for families and those seeking the therapeutic benefits of the warm salt waters.
Los Alcazares and Santiago de le Ribera are a couple of the closest beaches both offering numerous watersports in the summer season.
El Valle is also in close proximity to Murcia a most enchanting city aswell as Cartegena with it's naval history or if wine tasting is appealing the heritage vineyards of Jumilla are within easy reach.
El Valle Golf Resort / Polaris World, El Valle area
El Valle Golf Resort has been designed as a desert golf course offering each golfer an interesting, yet challenging course. Beautifully designed the course benefits from stunning rocky outcrops to streams, brooks and a lake providing the golfer with a feeling of space which is a unique feature of El Valle.
Forming part of the Jack Nicklaus Golf Trail more details can be found at www.polarisworld.com. El Valle Golf Resort is the jewel in the crown of the Polaris World developments, and the course, the 3rd in the Jack Nicklaus 'Bear's Trail' of 9 is already a firm favourite amongst golfers.
The course is very challenging at 6145 metres and par 71, and is located in a beautiful desert valley with the Sierra Carrascoy Mountain Range providing a stunning backdrop.
The design of the course presents the player with numerous short game options around the greens and rewards innovative and bold shots. El Valle Golf Resort includes two lakes which flow into brooks and cascades, groups of subtly shaped bunkers that sink into the desert landscape and holes surrounded by natural rocks.
There are least 15 other golf courses within a 30 minute drive of El Valle, including the world famous La Manga Golf Resort.
The resort is very secure with 24 hour gated security, mobile patrols and automatic number plate recgnition at the entrance. On site facilities include a supermarket, luxury clubhouse, bars and restaurants where there will be weekly activities and entertainment.
How to get there
From San Javier (Murcia) Airport follow the signs to Murcia and the c3319. Follow the c3319 for approx 15km, once you pass Polaris Worlds La Torre Golf Resort on the left hand side, look for a sign on the right hand side 'Urbanization El Valle' (look for a tall 'El Valle' advertising sign). Take this exit where you will shortly come to a roundabout, take the second exit, this road will take you down an avenue of trees to the security main entrance barrier (use the 'residents' side) and ask to be directed to Calamita 1 Diamante Street.
From Alicante Airport follow the sign for Murcia/Cartagena A7. After approx 20km take the exit for Cartegena AP7. Follow the AP7 for approx 60km (this will take you through 2 Tolls which cost approx 2.95 euros) and then take the exit sign posted c3319. Follow the c3319 for approx 15km once you pass Polaris Worlds La Torre Golf Resort on the left hand side, look for a sign on the right hand side 'Urbanization El Valle' (look for a tall 'El Valle' advertising sign).
