The Murcia region

Located at the South-East corner of the Iberian Peninsula, between the regions of, Andalusia, Castile-La Mancha and Valencia, the region of Murcia occupies an area of 11,317 km2 The Murcia region lies at the centre of the Spanish Mediterranean coastal arch.

It has the typical Mediterranean semi-arid subtropical climate: namely an average annual temperature of 18ºC, with hot summers (registering absolute maximum temperatures of 40ºC) and mild winters (an average temperature of 11ºC in the winter months of December and January).

The number of days per year with clear skies is 120-150, with approximately 2,800 sun-hours per annum. In general rain is scarce throughout the region (approx. 300-350 mm/year), falling mainly in the spring (April) and autumn (October), leaving the summer an eminently dry season.

The El Valle Golf Resort / Polaris World, El Valle area

El Valle is the Executive Jewel and Flag Ship of all the Polaris 5 star Golf Resorts. It is close to Mar Menor, the largest salt water inlet in Europe, offering all major water sports. Only 15 minutes to the Capital Murcia City, 30 minutes to Roman Cartagena and only 2 hours to Granada, where there is the Sierra Nevada Ski Resort. Benidorm is only 1 1/2 hours away where you will find Terra Mitica theme park and Aqualandia water park.

“Very Plush, Peaceful - Perfect!” My friend and I stayed here for one week in September - it was the perfect base to explore Murcia. Close to Murcia City, Cartagena and Mar Menor - car hire is essential to explore. Must see Murcia Cathedral and Cartagena Roman Theatre - Mar Menor is OK! Villa is five star - very plush. Very modern and everything is new. Amazing views, large outside terrace area with BBQ area. Decent size pool - very quiet and peacful. Resort is perfect - small, exclusive and very well kept. Resort supermarket had everything we needed - didn't use the restarant but the club house is very nice - good terrace bar with views of the course. I would fully recommend this villa for relaxing, golf and exploring. Best value for money!! TV controller was a bit hard to work out!

To whom it may concern:-

We stayed at Colin's Villa on the El Valle Golf resort in 2009. The Villa is a frontline property meaning it backs right onto the golf course so you have nice views of the course and are not overlooked.

Outside there are two barbecue areas but you only need one and various different areas to eat and plenty of space (we were 5 / 2 adults and 3 kids 15 - 10yrs old). The pool was great! Just the right size in my opinion and we had a great time in it. The pool had someone coming round to check it regularly which was good to and meant you didn't have to do anything.

Inside the house is very well equipped and feels spacious. There is a large double aspect lounge area with sofas and a dining table (though the weather was so nice we always ate outside). Marble floors, a good sized kitchen, a very big main bedroom with en suite etc, two other bedroom and further bathroom complete the package.

Unlike some rental places that are really cheaply furnished and feel like "rentals" this villa has been nicely done with care and feels like a home. There are loads of plate, glasses etc.

The clubhouse and supermarket is a 2 min drive, 10 + min walk (or a bit over 5 mins if you go across the golf course - which I didn't play but looks lovely).

The resort itself is about 15 mins from Murcia and 20/25 mins from the coast/Mar Menor. In my opinion it is much nicer and more upmarket than the other resorts around.

To cap it all - Colin who rents the villa is a really nice guy and keen that you have a good time!

Sorry if I've sounded like an estate agent but it is genuinely a very nice villa.
