This self-catering, newly refurbished, well equipped 3 bedroom 2 bathroom apartment with shared pool has a south facing private terrace and central air conditioning.
The apartment is on the second (top) floor. It provides a nice secluded feeling because there are no neighbouring terraces left, right or above.
It is located 400m from the beach of El Ancla, from which the historic walled city of Cadiz can be seen in the distance. The nearby (6 km) town of El Puerto de Santa Maria is famous for its restaurants serving succulent seafood washed down with chilled Manzanilla wine.
Cadiz can be reached by ferry or fast catamaran (20 mins) from the centre of El Puerto de Santa Maria. Jerez, with its famous Cartujan horse show, is 20 kms away. Sherry bodegas can be visited in El Puerto de Santa Maria and Jerez.

The apartment comes with (new, high quality, 100% cotton) sheets, towels and a complete set of all the utensils you will need. Beds are 200cm x 90cm with new, high grade mattresses.
The TV has a Terrestral Digital connection.
The newly rebuilt kitchen is fully equipped with vitro ceramic hob, electric oven, microwave, kettle and dishwasher.
There is a separate laundry area with washing machine and dryer. The central air-conditioning system has dual funtion to provide heat during the cooler months.
Freshness is also provided by the marble flooring and the frequent sea breezes.

There is a large communal pool as well as a small one for children (70cm, deeper than a splashing facility). Both pools are under the constant surveillance of socorristas during opening hours, i.e. from MID-JUNE to END SEPTEMBER.
The private terrace faces in the direction of the sea, 400m away, however no longer directly visible owing to the growth of a large pine tree, which provides protection against the levante (Sahara wind).
Because you have to climb down a dune to get there (125 steps), the beach never really gets crowded.
For shoping, there is a large SuperSol supermarket 1,400m away.

The Costa de la Luz region


The Costa de la Luz or “Coast of Light” is so-called because of its translucent skies and dazzling golden sand. Located on the Atlantic in the south-west of Andalucia, the Costa de la Luz stretches from the southernmost tip of Spain at Tarifa, as far as the Portuguese border. Here you will find hilltop villages, virtually unchanged for centuries, the world-famous sherry and brandy bodegas in Jerez and El Puerto de Santa Maria, fabulous unspoilt beaches… In short REAL SPAIN.
The El Puerto de Santa Maria area
Historic Walled City of Cadiz. Sevilla. Jerez Motorbike Grand Prix. Jerez Flamenco Festival (usually end of Feb - beginning of March). Cadiz Carnival. Royal Andalucian School of Equestrial Arts. Natural Reserve of Doñana. Numerous golf courses.
This part of the coastline has also avoided the high-rise development seen in many other areas of Spain. The area enjoys good weather even during the winter months so making it an ideal destination for golfing holidays.

Whether you're looking for a sun breakaway or a base to explore the region this is the ideal location. The apartment is so well equipped that you will want for nothing. It is spacious, very comfortable and within walking distance of both the beach and pool (which is onsite). Air conditioning is included and can be required on some of the warmer days and the included WIFI is great for planning family excursions. The area is beautiful and with so many interesting places to visit in the area you will never be short of things to do. I can highly recommend a visit to the area and this apartment in particular. |

If what you want is to walk to a beach/loaf by a pool/ laze on a sunny balcony this is it. if you might be tempted to do trips you will wan a car. If you want to party all night in the centre of town you may wish to think about staying closer to the centre. That said, there are bars on the beach and one up the road which looked fine. Our trip to Spain was fantastic. The apartment was excellent - it is located in a great area and we used it as a springboard for trips to Granda, Seville, Ronda, Jerez,Portugal, Gilbraltar, Morocco and to explore the surrounding area. It is a short walk to the beach (with views of the Atlantic ocean from the balcony) and the pool in the complex is great. We spent a total of 18 days in the apartment and had no problems. It is well stocked, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. Highly recommend this apartment to anyone. The owner was great to deal with providing all the needed information by email and taking payment through paypal. Response: Thank you for your nice and informative review. You and your family seem to have made the most of the modern road network, which does indeed allow for extensive visiting. To my knowledge however, no one had done Morocco and Portugal during the same holiday. |
