Villa Serena is located just five minutes' walk from the village Selva de Mar, one of Catalunya's best kept secrets . Quiet and peaceful, yet only twenty minutes's walk from typical Mediterranean small coves and few more from El Port de la Selva. The villa has easy access to all amenities, including many nice bars and restaurants for tapas and eating out.
Villa Serena offers short stays in a cool, relaxing atmosphere. It benefits from several attractive terraces with stunning views: sea, natural park and Dali's heaven. With three double (one within an independant bungalow, one with a private terrace) and one twin bedroom, the villa is ideal for families and friends to share few days or a cosy week, with plenty in the surrounding area to see and do during your stay.

Kitchen & Dining room are a all in one 35 m2 space joined to the salon (same size) to optimize conviviality.
Two terraces are flanking the Dining Room & the Salon (50 m2 each), giving a lot of indoor-outdoor configurations to spend a dynamic farniente!
One independant bungalow including a 30 m2 bedroom with its ensuite shower room, a 160x200 bed with a direct view on the sea.
One 25 m2 bedroom with a 50 m2 private terrace-solarium, an ensuite shower room, a 160x210 bed and a double exposition north-south.
One suite with two rooms (one with two single beds, one with a 140 x 200), a bathroom and a studio.
One large garage downstairs with a tennis table, a real dartboard and the washing machine.
Cosy design largely inspired by indonesian furnitures directly imported from Bali.

The Costa Brava/Catalonia/Barcelona region
We are in the Alt Empurda (the North Part of Catalonia) in the Park Natural of Cap de Creus. Thus, within one hour by car from Villa Serena, you will find a large set of broad & genuine spots.
Dali's places are at 30 minutes (Port Lligat & Figueres). Ferran Adria's El Bulli at 50 minutes (Cala Monjoi, actually closed, nice area for an excursion). Golf, casino, music festival & spa at Perelada (20 minutes). Reserve of migrating birds at 50 minutes (Aguamolls). Impressive sand beach (internationaly reknown for windsurfing): San Pere Pescador at 50 minutes. Winetasting road from Pau to Capmany at 20 minutes. Collioures, Ceret & Banyuls, nice place in France at 60 minutes. You can always find some Modern or Roman art during your excursions from Cadaques to Maçanet de Cabrenys.
The El Port de La Selva area
You have many things to do in one week. So take care not to forget a slow attitude reading your last best seller or an old philosophical treatise on the terrace in order to develop your famous, old project about how to change the world (a hammock is available!).
Mountains and sea, sunny and sometimes windy, all together is the mix that inspired S. Dali whereas it gives to Villa Serena a very pure atmosphere surrounded by singing birds in a green setting with few neighbouring villas.
Villa Serena is a great place for snorkelling, diving, windsurfing, sailing, canoe kayak, hiking, bike riding, tennis, eating, drinking, night clubbing... Climbing up to the impressive Monastery of San Pere de Rodes at 5 km is a nice alternative (either walking, biking or driving).
In Selva de Mar, you can access to nice bars and restaurants with a special mention for Can Perleta, a galician tavern. We may note here that Selva de Mar brings together an interesting mix of catalan and cosmopolitan people easy to meet (aperitif, happy hour, football match, etc..). You can get your bread and basic amenities here early in the morning.
At Port de la Selva, you have a market on Friday morning in front of the sea, two supermarkets (one opened 7 days a week up to 9:00 pm) , nice shops for fooding, especially Bodega Aurora for your wine. Nice restaurants with grilled "sardinas", gambas and catalan foods with sometimes a modern inspiration from the new wave of Catalan Chiefs (a recent general improve in the quality is noteworthy in Port de la Selva).
Cheaper superstores are available at Roses or Figueres at 30 minutes and the first french superstore at Le Boulou (45 minutes but very attractive!).
Teenagers are more than wellcome. Port de la Selva in Summer can be viewed as a little paradise for them with a reasonably crowdy atmosphere and a relatively high safety feeling for their parents at night.
