The Costa Calida/Murcia region
El Mojon is where the Costa Blanca ends and the Costa Calida begins. The "warm coast" is justly named since it has an enviable climate and the water temperature of the Mar Menor is inviting almost the whole year round. The Mar Menor is known as he largest salt lake in Europe and contains much of the protected wetlands of the Murcia region. Migratory birds abound in the "salinas", salt lagoons constructed by the Romans. The Romans also established Cartagena, remains of their architecture may still be seen in this bustling naval city. Other notable cities are Murcia and of course Alicante with its mix of ancient and modern architecture.
El Mojon, Costa Calida / Playa Diamante area
The lagoons and dunes of the Salinas de San Pedro nature reserve offer a wealth of birdlife and beautiful walks and are within easy walking distance. Explore the bustling beach and night scene at the neighbouring Mar Menor resorts. Barter with the locals at the amazing street markets for just-picked produce, leather goods, clothing and jewellery. Dance to the small hours at a live music event on the beach or just chill by the pool and watch the kids have fun.
There are fiestas throughout the year celebrating key events such as the atmospheric Easter parades "Semana Santa". These are meticulously prepared months in advance and are spectacular for their costumes and richly decorated floats.

Our nearest airport is Murcia San Javier (MJV) 15 minutes away and is served by Ryanair, EasyJet and other low cost airlines from many regional airports in the UK. Further details indoors: Villa Mariposa has all the amenities for self catering with a fully equipped kitchen / dining room and a barbecue for our guests' enjoyment. A large comforable lounge has digital TV, a DVD player ,a music centre and an open fire for the winter nights.
We can accommodate six guests in three bedrooms, with two double and one twin room. We also have a further folding bed and cot available. There's a ceiling fan in all the rooms and mobile air conditioning units are available on request.

Rental includes all linen and towels, electricity, water and gas (within reason). We can organise car hire, airport transfer and welcome packs by prior arrangement.
Conditions
Booking is confirmed on receipt of a signed bookiing form and a booking deposit of £100 per week booked. This deposit is non-refundable on cancellation and is subtracted from the balance.
Two weeks prior to booking we ask for a key/security deposit which is fully refunded following your stay subject to return of the keys and no loss or damage to the villa property.
