About the home

Located on the coastal road overlooking the ocean, the Villa is surrounded by beautiful gardens and boasts a large pool that is never crowded. The villa is approximately 20 minutes walk to the lovely village of El Medano.
The 4 rooms inside the villa, reached through a separate guest entrance, are all twin bedded with private bathroom and shower, the two sea view rooms have a large balcony with patio furniture and the two mountain view rooms have a Juliet type balcony. Beach towels, towels and linen are provided. Hairdryers are provided.
A cot can be placed in each room . Each room is equipped with a fridge and tea/coffee making facilities, a microwave/grill and tv/dvd can be included if required. Wifi access is available.

Breakfast is served on the large terrace overlooking the sea.

The electricity and water is solar powered, there is no gas used in the villa.There is ample free storage for water sports equipment, golfing equipment, bicycles etc

The two sea view rooms have a large balcony with table and chairs, the mountain view rooms have a smaller 'Juliet' type balcony with chairs.
A cot can be fitted in the room.

Beach towels, towels and linen are provided and changed weekly or more often if required. Hair dryers are provided.
A free courtesy welcome pack is provided and holiday information pack.
The large seaview terrace can be used any time and seats up to 10 people.

There is parking available right outside the villa and also secure garage for storing windsurfing equipment, golfing or bicycles etc if required.

The pool area is spacious and sun loungers are provided, the pool is well maintained and there are Roman steps leading into the shallow end.

Villa Las Dunas

The Tenerife region

El Medano is situated on the coast in the south of Tenerife. Tenerife is an ideal holiday location for everybody- there are many golf courses on the island , water sports for the more adventurous (kite surfing, windsurfing, canoeing etc) are available in El Medano, also cycling, walking and horse riding.

The beaches are beautiful and El Medano has been awarded the blue flag for its beach.

Excursions are available throughout the stunning island, including the volcanic Mounte Teide, and much more!

The El Medano / Ensenada Pelada area

El Medano / Ensenada Pelada area: The B & B is approximately 20 minutes walk along the coast to the lovely village of El Medano.

El Medano is a lovely Canarian village, renowned for wind and kite surfing. The main square hosts many attractions like folk festivals, a market every Saturday, open-air cinemas in summer, a children's play area and many small bars and cafés with terraces on the promenade.

You can hire bikes or go on bike tours, hire surfing equipment, long walks or just relax by the heated pool.

The Loro Park with it's fantastic shows is in the north of the island, and there is the Aquapark and Siam Park within half hour's drive away.

Most airlines fly into Tenerife South, Monarch, Easyjet, Thomas Cook are just some of the well known airlines with regular flights from UK airports. El Medano is approximately 10 minutes drive from the South airport.

We've just come back from a lovely peaceful relaxing chilled out week staying at Villa Las Dunas and I know that sitting in my office right now, I wish I was back there. Coming to the Canary Islands we wanted something other than the resort hotels of the main tourist traps and we found this gem, a lovely villa B&B ran by the most lovely couple whose unique selling point is simply the fact that they are just really nice people who enjoy what they do and welcome everyone as friends.

We stayed at the Villa Las Dunas for nearly two weeks thanks to the volcanic ash. It was our honeymoon so we wanted somewhere peaceful and chilled. Thats exactly what our hosts Jill and Nigel provided. They are a great couple who will do anything to make your stay as stress free as possible. Throughout the disruption they were a calming influence and it was a treat to stay an extra week. The pool area is great always quiet and a great place to relax with a good book. We had a great time, the villa is excellent value for money, Jill and Nigel make every effort to provide you with everyting they can to ensure you have a great time. I spend 2 weeks with my girlfriend at the B&B in Medano. The hosts, Jill and Nigel are the best hosts you can imagine! Hospitatilty with a capital H. We enjoyed every bit of our stay. I like kitesurfing and could store my kite equipment easily in there big garage. The day starts with a supurb breakfast and a wonderful view over the ocean. I hope there will still be a possibility to book in the future, because if everybody is as enthousiastic as we are, it will be fully booked throughout the year! ;-)

Jill and Nigel made us welcome from the moment we arrived. Nothing is too much trouble. Excellent sea views from both our room and the patio where we enjoyed wonderful breakfasts - what ever you wanted from a boiled egg, continental, full English or just a bacon sandwich they would do you want ever you asked for. The room was very comfortable complete with fridge, tea/coffee making facilities and even chilled bottle of wine and water all complementary!!!! The pool area is clean, quiet and relaxed with plenty of sun beds. A perfect find would recommend to anybody and would definitely come back again and again.

The week with Jill and Nigel was brilliant, we felt like friends of the family and nothing was too much trouble for them.
We had a bright , clean twin room with a balcony overlooking the sea.
This was our fifth time in Tenerife but first at El Medano.We will definitely return as the town had everything we needed while being very laid back and uncommercialised. It is the wind surfing capital and therefore no surprise that it can be breezy..but down by the lovely pool shelter could always be found.
Jill and Nigel provide fabulous breakfasts on their terrace and there is wifi access there as well which we utilised at least twice a day (no charge..what a bonus!!)
The beach in El Medano is safe and family friendly and the beach near to JIll and Nigel is amazing with more rolling waves than in town.
Being near the airport we found a plus as we could sunbathe up to the very end.

Villa Las Dunas lived up to our expectations based on previous reviews, and especially the friendly and helpful service from Jill and Nigel. Breakfast on the sea-facing terrace was always an occasion, with plenty of choice ranging from a simple 'continental' to a 'full English'.

Just returned from very peaceful 7 day break at Villa Las Dunas. Very comfortable room with superb sea views, excellent quiet and sheltered pool area. Nigel and Jill provided a warm reception meeting us at airport and providing lifts when required into Medano. The breakfast every morning was a delight as previous reviews have highlighted the range of choice available, Nigel and Jill provided plenty of chat and information keeping us up to date with current news and events (especially the football results from home!). Advice was always available about trips round the island which we took full advantage of during our relaxing holiday.

We have just returned back from the Villa Las Dunas in El Medano Tenerife. We had a wonderful time. We arrived at 7.30pm at the South Airport, we were collected by the owners Nigel and Jill. On arrival we were shown around the place, and then shown to our room. We had our 6y/o daughter with us, and they put us another bed in the room for her to sleep on. Each room has a fridge with a small freezer box, so you can chill your drinks. They couldn't do enough for us, they absolutely bent over backwards to ensure we had a good time. I have never known any experience like it where they care so much about how your holiday is going. The breakfast is the best bacon sandwiches i have ever had abroad. Jill will cook the bacon exactly how you want it. I also saw the full English breakfast which was on offer and i was very impressed. You could eat as much as you wanted for your breakfast, cereal, continental breakfast, fruit anything you want. There is an endless supply of orange juice and coffee/tea too if you want it. They even allowed us to use the dining area on the terrace so we could have our lunch there too.

Have just returned from a quick 5 day break at Villa Las Dunas in Tenerife, a lovely little Villa on the outskirts of El Medano, which has 4 bed and breakfast rooms, run by two of the nicest people we have ever met, Jill Willott and Nigel Sheperd. If any couple deserve to get on in life, it's these two, nothing is to much trouble for them, and i'v no doubt they will make a great success of this their newest bussiness venture. We were a party of 4 all in our 40's (except me, 49.99) celebrateing our good friend Davina's 40th Birthday, as a supprise, we were looking for a place to top up our tan's, and recharge our batteries, Tenerife seemed the best choice for winter sun, a 4 & a bit hour flight away from us. Having found their web site by chance while looking for something different in Tenerife, a place i'v been many times before, Jill and Nigel's place looked like a refreshing change from the norm, proper English breakfast, great hospitality, and lovely people, only regret was we did'nt have longer with these two folk, we wish them every success. take a look at their web site, the pool area is a little sun trap!

We have stayed at many hotels and villas on Tenerife and found this far superior to all.
Although the location of the villa is quiet and relaxing El Medano town centre with all its attractions is within 15 mins walk along the coastal road. From the point when Jill and Nigel collected us from the airport they couldn't have done more to make us welcome and relaxed, nothing was too much trouble and Jill's breakfasts definitely set us up for the day. We will certainly be returning in the near future and have no hesitation in recommending Villas Las Dunas to others.
