The sun shines 365 days a year making this an ideal holiday destination, and the region itself offers something for everyone. Excursions to Cairo - the Pyramids, Luxor, and a cruise down the River Nile can be arranged via the hotels or the information centre located Downtown.
El Gouna / Upper Nubia area
El Gouna is a unique and stunning international resort on the Red Sea Riviera coast, with the Sinia mountains in the background. All apartments and villas are surrounded by lagoons which makes it such a special location.
There is a wide selection of over 60 restaurants to choose from in the resort all of a high standard. Eating out costs less than half the amount you would expect to pay in the UK. There are a great choice of bars and cafes and if you fancy you can dance the night away in any one of the out door discos/bars.
Some excellent Hotels are situated close by, including the Sheraton Miramar with its fabulous facilities, the Steinberger which has an 18 hole PGA championship golf course, and the Movenpick with its superb spa.
El Gouna is also a premier destination for diving, with 9 dive centres offering expert tuition for all standards and daily excursions to the many sites on offer. The resort is also very popular for Kitesurfing, windsurfing , sailing, parasailing, watersking, snorkelling and deep sea fishing. Other attractions include, tennis,go-karting, horse riding, paintball games, quad biking and various safaris.
How to get there
Easyjet, Thomascook, Thomson, Firstchoise have regular flights from Gatwick and Manchester. All flights land at Hurghada International Airport which is 20 kilometres from El Gouna. Transfers can be arranged on your behalf at a cost of approx 10 pounds. Bus services in El Gouna is cheap and excellent (weekly unlimited is £1.50), Tok Tok is 50p and taxis at £1.50 per ride.
