Home description
Apartamento Celestial is a completely self-contained apartment. It is part of a larger house and comprises the whole of the ground floor. There is an open living area which includes well-equipped dining and kitchen facilities. The apartment has two large bedrooms a double and a twin. The shower room is huge. It has been built out of the rock face as has the second bedroom. This makes them both very individual and attractive. There is a spacious living area with Lounge seating for four, a Dining Table and a superb private Pergola area. Surrounding the garden are lava fields which are a protected area of rugged natural beauty. These descend to the beaches and bays of El Cotillo and surround the village of El Roque. This area is protected because of the natural wildlife which includes some endangered species of birds. The local herd of goats passes each morning.
The Apartment overlooks the garden area. It has a patio which is partially covered by a Pergola. There is also a garden seating/sun bathing area sheltered by a natural rock wall. The large heated Swimming Pool & Hot tub are shared solely with the family who live permanently upstairs. The small, quiet seaside village of El Cotillo is 5 minutes drive away. El Roque itself has a small shop a church a goat cheese dairy & an excellent restaurant. The apartment is especially suited to people who are looking for a quiet holiday, but with easy access to local beaches, restaurants and small shops.

The Fuerteventura region
Fuerteventura is on the whole a quiet island which is some 70 miles off the coast of Africa. It is the second largest Canarian Island and is in all some 150 km long. There are numerous unspoilt and unpopulated beaches. The island has a reputation for windsurfing, kite surfing and bodyboarding. Surfers are very welcome to stay at the apartment. Of the many nearby beaches some are quiet and offer safe bathing often with Lagoons, others are excellent surfing beaches.
El Cotillo / El Roque, Fuerteventura area
El Roque is a quaint village some 2 km from El Cotillo. Apartamento Celestial is at the very far end of the village overlooking the sea and El Cotillo. In the centre of El Roque there is a small village shop, a goat's cheese dairy, a lovely village church and a good restaurant. The whole village is very quiet and peaceful. El Cotillo is a larger seaside village but is still quiet, and usually uncrowded. There are several excellent restaurants, some of which have superb views over the new harbour or the old harbour. In all there are reputed to be over 20eating houses. The restaurant on the beach has beautiful views & serves great food. The beaches here are not crowded and extend in all for several miles. Many of the beaches are suitable for children, because of the safe bathing and the lagoon areas. Other beaches are superb, surfing beaches suitable for windsurfing, kite surfing and bodyboarding. There is a new supermarket El Cotillo, together with tapas restaurants, two bakeries, and local bars. There is quite a selection of shops in El Cotillo.
How to get there
Car hire from the airport is recommended. Taxis are always easily available at the Airport. Cicar car hire seems reliable & has cars waiting at the airport. Further details indoors: The Apartment has a definite " Wow factor". It was built in 2007 by a local developer. Apartamento Celestial is at the end of the Village and overlooks the sea. The Gardens have magnificent Sea Views. The Sunsets are beautiful but different each evening. The Stars are clear and brilliant. There is minimal light pollution. There is ample Parking outside the Apartment. There is a partially covered Pergola for Al Fresco dining. The Garden has many Herbs, Trees & Plants, please help yourselves!. The Spacious Swimming Pool Area is Sheltered. There are Loungers , an Umbrella, a table & chairs here. There is an ample supply of Linen, Crockery & a B.B.Q.
Further details outdoors: Apartamento Celestial and the adjoining Casa Nana have been built to very green standards The electricity is solar powered, backed up when needed by a generator which is sited at the front gate & is quiet when operating. The large sunken pool is separately solar heated & is therefore between 75-82 degrees from December to March. (In Summer the Temperature rises to over 90). The pool area has lighting as well as an underwater pool light. There is a garden at one end of the pool and along the walls of the pool which surround the decking. The American Hot Tub is top of the range. It can accommodate several people. The temperature is set at 37 Degrees throughout the year. It has numerous types of jets including fountain jets which change colour. The Pool Area is spacious and has a magnificent hardwood decking with ample room for tables, chairs and umbrellas. The Hot water system is solar powered but the water is also automatically heated if the generator comes on . This system has always provided plentiful hot water even when there are guests in the apartment.
Further details
The apartment is difficult to find (see the map on this site) and therefore a taxi from the airport is not appropriate. Car-rental is required. We will send you directions from the airport. to the church in El Roque. When you phone us from the church we will meet you and bring you to your apartment but we have written directions to the house now which people follow successfully.. A complimentary welcome pack will be waiting for you. There is a friendly but large dog in the grounds who is always willing to greet you, but can occasionally be boisterous and bouncy. We feel that the apartment is not suitable for children under five, mainly because of the ruggedness of the extensive grounds.
Conditions
A non-refundable deposit of £150 per week is required to secure the booking. This must be paid within seven days of the booking being made. The full amount must be paid at least eight weeks before the date of occupancy. The fees for bookings made less than eight weeks prior to occupancy will be required to be paid in full at the time of the boooking. A security deposit of £150 will also be required at the time of full payment. This will be returned within a week of departure, if the Villa managers confirm that there have been no breakages or damage. Guests must arrive after 4pm and depart before 11am on the day of departure. If you want to arrive earlier or leave later please discuss this with us
