Situated in the centre of the Old Harbour area this new twin/double bedded ground floor apartment is a little gem offering the best possible location; 50 metres walk from the bars and restaurants in this harbour area and 200 metres from the beach. The fully equipped kitchen means it is also perfect for those planning a self-catering holiday.
There is also a roof terrace with sun loungers.

The Fuerteventura region

Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands, but the least developed. Situated on the same latitude as Florida and Mexico and only 100 kms from Morocco, it basks in 3000 hours of sunshine per year. It has the best beaches of all the Canary Islands, 150 in total, and unlike the other islands most of the beaches are of fine golden sand. Indeed the beaches here are considered to be among the best in the world.
The island is a mecca for water sport enthusiasts and the world wind surfing championships are held here every year.

The El Cotillo area

About El Cotillo
El Cotillo is a small, peaceful village at the northern end of Fuerteventura, on the west coast. The village is centred around the small new harbour that is mostly used by local fishermen. The old harbour is only a short walk to the north over the headland that separates the two. There are several bars and restaurants close to both harbours and the views from El Toston tower are particularly pleasing.

El Cotillo Beaches
There are miles of excellent beaches to the south of this part of sunny Fuerteventura, and even on a busy day they are too big to be overcrowded. These beaches are popular with surfers, windsurfers and kiteboarders, and their colourful sails and kites only add to the scenery. The north beach incorporates several lagoons which provide safe bathing. The circular stone windbreaks (corralles) that are a common feature in El Cotillo surround these lagoons. This beach is popular with naturists because of the available shelter and safe bathing.

Direct flights to Fuerteventura from most UK airports.

El Cotillo is 40 mins from the airport, car hire recommended but airport transfers can be arranged.

The village is only 40 minutes from the airport.
At the airport there are several car hire companies but better prices may be obtained if you pre book. Alternatively, we can arrange transport at a cost that is slightly below the local taxi charge. El Cotillo is easily reached by public transport. It is a short journey from the busier town of Corralejo using the regular bus service. Puerto del Rosario is also easily reached, crossing Fuerteventura, and rewards the traveller with some excellent views. If you are driving on the island the main roads are good. There are also very picturesque routes along the coast, although these are sometimes easier to negotiate in a four wheel drive vehicle.

I stayed at the Haven in El Cortillo for six nights and it was blissful. A beautiful self contained apartment with access to a sun terrace. You could hear the waves crashing on the nearby shore. If you need to get away from it all, this is the place for you. I travelled on my own and felt safe at all times. The beaches are a serious of little lagoons, you can have one to yourself if you want. I hired a care and explored the island very worthwhile. If you stay here eat on the little pier at the Restaurant La playa, food is excellent, in fact all the restaurants I eat in were good, authentic spainish cooking. Go to the pier in mid afternoon and you might see the man and his floating dog!! The dog floats on his back!! Amazing!
