El Carmen is a new complex ( completed in 2005) and is an ideal choice for those wanting a truly relaxing home from home break in a stunning location. The working fishing village of El Cotillo is a perfect base for lazy days on the stunning lagoon beaches, or for taking advantage of the many other activities the area has to offer.
The apartments are set on 2 levels. The first has an open plan living area, a twin bedroom and shower room. There is also the larger of 2 terraces with sun loungers and dining table and chairs. Upstairs is the master bedroom with en suite shower room and access to the second sun terrace, again with sun loungers, table and chairs...ideal for all day sun bathing or sipping a glass of wine or a cold beer while watching the sun set.

The Fuerteventura region
Fuerteventura is the second largest of the Canary Islands, but is very much less developed than the other large islands. The island is famous for its stunning white sand beaches and very popular with water sport enthusiasts.
The climate is subtropical (temperatures usually range from 18-28C) and has very little rainfall. Its closest neighbour is the coast of West Africa. The sun shines approximately 8 hours a day almost every day of the year and so provides an ideal holiday destination at any time of the year.
As well as the water activities there are lots of other attractions and activities available: walking, hiking, cycling, horse riding, quad biking, fishing, birdwatching. There is a nearby water park, a zoo, museums, golfing and much more.
Certain parts of the island are also very popular with naturists.
El Cotillo area
El Cotillo is set in the North West of the island of Fuerteventura. Once a sleepy fishing village, it is now moving into the 21st century and with it a certain amount of new developments. However once you are in this apartment or on your own private terrace the only view is of the ocean and mountains.
There are 2 small supermarkets, 2 banks and a parafarmacia. There are various other smaller stores and services in the village. Restaurants are plentiful and most have excellent views over the beach or harbours.
The village maintains its Canarian feel and is an ideal location for a truly relaxing holiday. Surfing , cycling and walking are all very popular in this region., and equipment can be hired locally.
How to get there
Direct flights available from most major European airports. Flight time 3.5 - 5 hours. Currently charter companies Thomson and Thomas Cook provide direct flights to Fuerteventura from the UK, also Budget airlines Easyjet and Monarch fly direct and AerLingus has resumed flights from Ireland. Cheap car hire is available from the airport and bookable on line from as little as 140 euros per week. A car is not essential and we can arrange transfers from 40 euros each way which includes a mini tour of Cotillo for first time visitors. There are Ferry terminals at Correlejo and Puerto del Rosario.

Decorated with beautiful cacti and flowering plants. *Apt 67 has an attractive covered pergola which lets you dine outdoors whatever the weather. *Apt 63 - Upstairs south facing terrace which has all day sun most of the year and stunning views to the Atlantic ocean and mountains to the south of the village. Apt 67 - Upstairs terrace which faces west and has great views of the whole village of El Cotillo and to the lagoons and lighthouse on the North shore. *Car parking area in the interior of the building complex for residents only.

Both of these duplex apartments are exactly the same specification, both internally and externally. They are furnished differently and each have their own character, and also different views from their respective terraces. They are separated by 3 apartments, but the entrance areas are next to each other so providing very close proximity but also privacy if required. Ideal for larger family groups and groups of friends with or without children.
