Home description
Our 1 bedroom apartment can sleep 2 adults. It is part of a small beach side development in El Cotillo on the north west corner of Fuerteventura in the Canary Islands. It’s an idyllic location only a few metres from a fabulous beach. El Cotillo has fantastic beaches and lagoons that lie to the south of this little harbour town. From the cliffs there are several footpaths that lead down to the Playa del Castillo, one of the nicest beaches in this region.
The apartment has recently been decorated throughout and is maintained to a high standard of cleanliness. Bed linen, bath towels, electricity and water are included in the rental price.
We've been letting our apartment since early 2005 and guest's comments tell us it's great for a holiday in El Cotillo. We have local British agents to maintain the apartment to the high standard appreciated by our guests, many of whom return for further visits, including ourselves!

The Fuerteventura region
El Cotillo's main attraction is the wonderful beaches and lagoons. To the south of the village is a series of lagoons. The closer you walk towards the lighthouse the more secluded the lagoons become.
The secluded feel to Cotillo appeals to many, but it still offers great restaurants with menus ranging from steaks, pizzas and pasta, to some of the best fish restaurants on the island.
The village also offers shops, bars and supermarkets, and if all this isn’t enough Corralejo, the main tourist area for Fuerteventura, is only 19km 15-20 minutes drive.
A reliable bus service runs between El Cotillo and Corralejo, the closest large tourist area. Corralejo has a twice weekly market, lots of shops, bars, restaurants and night life, and is also home to the Baku Euro Park. The Baku Euro Park has water slides, flumes, wave machine, rapids, climbing areas, adventure playground and bowling alley.
From Corralejo harbour you can take a day trip to Lanzarote or the island of Lobos. On Lobos you can climb a huge volcano and look into the crater. There are little paths all round Lobos and a lovely sandy safe beach which is protected. There are sand dunes on the outskirts of Corralejo which are part of the National Park and are a must to see.
Fuerteventura has an excellent and a reliable bus service, which is inexpensive and a great way of getting about.
To the south are the wild and remote beaches of Playa del Ajibe de la Cueva and Playa del Aguila.
Despite being the second largest of the seven Canary Islands, Fuerteventura is the least developed of the four major islands, with over 155 miles of coastline. The roads are quiet, giving you the opportunity to hire a car and explore the different aspects of the island.
El Cotillo area
Elcotillo has two banks, a pharmacy and two supermarkets, together with various other shops and facilities. There are plenty of restaurants with majority having views over the beach and harbour. During the last two weeks of August the El Cotillo Fiesta takes place and the village can be busy. There are many popular activities in this area including walking, surfing and cycling, and equipment can be hired locally if required.

Viewing If you are visiting Fuerteventura we can arrange for you to view the apartment. There is a viewing fee of £10 to cover our agents costs. Viewing is only available if the apartment is unoccupied.
Please note that no candles are to be lit in the property.
Smokers are welcome but the owners are non-smokers and would ask that you smoke outside the patio area.
