About the home

La Recalada is a beautiful sun-drenched and tranquil villa with swimming pool, which boasts spectacular views of the Mediterranean sea from all three floors. It sits on the top of a small hill on the coast of Coveta Fuma, near Campello, Alicante. The house is only a short stroll from sandy child-friendly bays which adorn the beautiful coastline here. La Recalada is ideal for enjoying peaceful vacations, but can also be a base for a great variety of outdoor activities such as fishing, sailing, snorkeling or just walking in the mountains which are only half an hour away by car. You can enjoy the local food in the bars and restaurants that form the heart of the village. Or you can savour a traditional English pint in one of the English pubs nearby. This part of Spain is renowned for its sunny climate that you can enjoy nearly all year round .

The house 'La Recalada' is situated in a privileged position on a small hill only a short stroll from a child play-area in the village square, the local church, and the various bars and restaurants. There is also a small supermarket where you can shop for essentials, hire a car or book a taxi. The local tram stops here and you can access easily and quickly places such as Benidorm and Alicante, Terra Mitica, Mundo Mar, Altea etc. Moreover, it is only five kilometers to El Campello, famous for its beautiful beaches, esplanade, shops and sea-side restaurants.

La Recalada, with exceptional views of the sea, is surrounded by a mature garden (1000 M2) and boasts a12M long infinity swimming pool .

The house has a capacity for ten people and consists of:

Three floors, which includes one self-contained apartment on the bottom floor (70 M2) connected to the house above by a set of stairs. The apartment has a kitchen, a bathroom (with shower and toilet) and a pleasant terrace where you can enjoy breakfast with views of the garden and the sea just beyond.

The main living quarters of the house consist of a large furnished salon with fireplace, a fully equipped kitchen (with dishwasher, gas cooker, electric oven, microwave cooker, fridge) and a 'cubby hole' under the stairs for storage. On this floor there is also a spare toilet.

The top floor consists of a large bedroom with double bed, en-suite bathroom (shower and toilet) wardrobes and a terrace with a terrific view of the sea. There are two other bedrooms each with two single beds and wardrobe . There is also another separate bathroom with shower and toilet on this floor.

The house features a 'utility room' equipped with washing machine, ironing equipment and a place to dry clothes.

All the rooms have air-conditioning with both hot and cold air.

The carpentry is wood, aluminium and PVC.

Coveta Fuma is ideal for family vacations and for a restful holiday. It is close to superb beaches and offers good-value entertainment and refreshment.

The top floor features a large master bedroom with double bed and en-suite bathroom with shower and toilet. The bedroom opens out onto a balcony with superb views of the sea with Alicante in the distance. On the same floor there are two other bedrooms, each with two single beds, and another separate bathroom with shower and toilet. The ground floor features a semi-independent flat which connects to the main house above by an internal wooden staircase. It features a bar, kitchen and large bathroom. There are two double beds on this floor, one of which converts into a large, comfortable sofa. The two sleeping areas are separated by a screen. Outside there is a terrace and lawn.

The middle floor is the recreational area, with satellite t.v, large dinner table for up to ten people, and a terrace with dining table capable of sitting ten people.

Further details outdoors:
The house has an upper and lower garden, with lawns, cactus and palm trees. There is an orange grove and there are lemon, pomegranate and olive trees. Around the pool there is spacious terraced area with deck-chairs. Next to the pool there is a small pond with fountain.

Conditions

During the high season, we're ideally looking for people who want to rent for a week or more. But we will listen to any proposals. Short stays are available in the low season.

The Costa Blanca / Valencia / Alicante Province region

Sunny nearly all year around, with warm seas which are swimmable even in November. Apart from the famous sandy beaches and cliffs, a little inland you will find some spectacular mountain ranges, lakes, orange groves, waterfalls and delightful little villages.

There are castles to visit, and theme parks for the kids. The nightlife is buzzing in Benidorm, but there's still lots to do in Alicante or Campello.

The El Campello / Coveta Fuma area

In Coveta Fuma, you'll find one of the best chinese restaurants in Spain, the famous Singapore Gardens. But you have a choice of bars and restaurants, some English, some Dutch and Spanish.

To relax and chill out, the beach is only a stone's throw away.

From Alicante airport take the motorway to Valencia. After the El Campello tunnel ( about twenty kilometros from airport), take the exit just before the toll booths which says 'Campello, Villa Joyosa). Follow the road until you see a sign on your right for Coveta Fuma. Continue on the road down into Coveta until you come to a round bout next to a small supermarket. Turn right at the roundabout and follow the road until you come to small bridge on the left. Take the bridge and turn left down into the village. Turn left at the bottom with the bars to your left. Carry on up the hill, past a bar called Sin's bar on the right. A little further up the road, just over the hill, you will see on your left the house marked 'La Recalada', no. 13. Ring the bell when you arrive.

“Stunning property and place, did not want to leave!” The villa is lovely, the photos don't do it justice. The gardens and pool were very well maintained whilst we were there. The location of the villa was perfect, especially as we chose not to rent a car. There is a really well stocked supermarket within a 3-4 minute walk, a lovely beach/cove with 2 beach bars only a couple of minutes walk which was perfect for later in the afternoon when the sun disappeared from the pool area (normally around 5pm) and a tram stop about 3-4 minutes walk which we used quite often to visit Benidorm, Alicante and El Campello. There were plenty of nice bars and restaurants within a 5 minute walk also. There were 9 of us (extended family) and everyone said they would definitely come back to this lovely villa and beautiful area again. Would most definitely recommend to others. “Spectacular views though just a pleasant stroll from the waters edge.” The owners David and Lilyan are lovely - they made the choosing and booking process very easy for us. As soon as we arrived at La Recalada we were taken aback by the spectacular views over the village and bay. The villa is in a fabulous position though its just a pleasant stroll from the waters edge. There are balconies/terraces on all levels so we were able to enjoy those wonderful views in absolute comfort, serenaded by the doves in the trees above. There is a very convenient train service from La Coveta Fuma into Alicante which we used a couple of times to do some sightseeing in the city. It was great fun but we were very pleased to escape the bustle of the city and return to the peace and quiet of La Recalada in the evenings. The villa was perfect for our holiday - it was comfortable, convenient and very relaxing - we would recommend it to anyone.

“I love the place” I am writing this both as a good friend of the owner,David Holmes, and in my capacity as a former Anglican chaplain to the Costa Blanca: the property is warm, homely and always in tip-top condition.It is an ideal setting for easy access , not only for the costas, but also the (mountainous) interior of Alicante province. There is also easy access to the local railway; linking Alicante to the south and Javea to the north. The property is therefore suitable as a link to other places or simply as a getaway retreat. I would wholeheartedly recommend it!

“Beautiful sea views; spacious, light, and airy; fabulous infinity pool overlooking sea with sunbed and immaculate garden” Newly refurbished house, with excellent sea views, spacious accommodation, cool breezes, immaculate facilities, with a clean and well maintained infinity pool also overlooking the sea. All south facing with plenty of sunbathing. We had an excellent family holiday there with occasional trips into Alicante, although there is a great local Chinese restaurant and a couple of bars within easy walk.

Prices include cleaning of house, bed linen and towels (no beach towels), water and electricity. Electricity consumption up to 175 kW includes a week.Extra use of electricity cost are Euro 0. 20 -. Kw per person.
