Home description
The gite has a large dining kitchen, with log burner, a lounge with open fire and cloakroom. Outside there is a partially covered patio area.and small but secluded garden. there is 1 double bedroom and a family room with double and two single beds.and shower room. Set in the beautiful Berry region of France,we are on the edge of the Brenne national park. and close by is the Lac du Chambon and the River Creuse, with fishing and canoeing etc. further afield are the cities of Limoges and Poitiers, which has the park of moving images, Futuroscope.

The Loire Valley / Indre region
To the south of the Loire Valley, the area is calm and peaceful with outstandingly beautiful countryside. Across the river is the village of Gargilesse where the author George Sands lived. Close by is one of Frances most beautiful villages, St Benoit du Sault. The very moving Oradour sur Glane is a must to visit, it tells a very tragic tale of world war 2 and has been left untouched since then.
Eguzon area
Numerous beautiful little villages . Lac du Chambon with all watersports, is a 10 minute drive. The River Creuse a short walk away, with beach,bar and restaurant. Excellent for all watersports and fishing. On the edge of the Brenne National Park, in the beautiful Berry countryside. The village of Eguzon, five mins away has a weekly market, with local produce and the local goats cheese,plus all daily requirements, supermarket, bank, butchers bakers, pharmacy etc. The historic cities of Limoges and Poitiers are about 1 hrs drive away. A visit to Bourges, with its beautiful cathedral and stunning stained glass windows is a must.
How to get there
Fly;- Ryanair to Limoges from Stansted,East Midlands , Liverpool or Manchester, we are aprox 70km north of the airport,car hire at Limoges. Ferry crossings from Dover,Portsmouth New Haven and Southampton, driving tine is approx 7hrs from Dover just off the A10 junction 17.

Guestbook for Gite de belle
We had a wonderful time at Gite de Belle, Lac du Eguzon has a lot to offer for a wide variety of watersports, and we loved Bonnu for a lovely beach area. There are numerous pretty villages in the surrounding area and Futuroscope provided a fabulous dayout. The weather was perfect, eating breskfast, lunch and dinner in the garden. All in all a wonderful time in Eguzon.
Gite de Belle was a fabulous holiday, a really great beach at Bonnu. The gite is well stocked and appointed, enough room for us all to be doing our own thing or family pursuits. the weather was fabulous, including a spectacular electrical storm one night! The surrounding area is beautiful. Eguzon caters for all your needs and the lake for water activities.Bonnu is a lovely quiet alternative across the lake. The kids loved it! Thank you for a wonderful memorable holiday.
As well as days out ( Chateau at Crozant is very interesting) we enjoyed local footpaths and picking blackberries and windfall apples and walnuts. We enjoyed the lovely grapes outside, thank you. We also sampled some local produce from thje market in Eguzon, yellow and red peaches, and tiny yellow pear shaped tomatoes! The weather was fabulous, we must come back for some more of the quiet life.
We had a wonderful 2 weeks here, the weather was mostly hot and sunny.The beaches and the surrounding area are great! We loved the beach at Fougeres which is such a beautiful place to spend long hot days. The boulangerie at Eguzon is wonderful for fresh bread every day. We enjoyed tasting local produce on offer in the square on sunday mornings. The Val de Creuse is a wonderful area to explore with it's pretty well kept villages. Gargilesse is a must. Most of all we enjoyed the peace and quiet of gite de belle, we saw lovely starry skies not seen at home with so much light pollution. Thank you for the food and milk ready for when we arrived. A lovely holiday, Thank you.
Has a great time here,a lovely two weeks of great weather. Very peaceful and relaxing. the farmers Festival at Chamorin was brilliant. Thank you for a wonderful time.
