The Provence region

"Fantastic!"

The recent heavy rain and flooding in Uzes meant that the original accommodation we had booked was cancelled with just 24 hours notice. Fortunately we found this property online and Marie-Christine was very prompt with her responses, enabling us to stay at her fantastic villa.

It is situated near a lovely village called Eguilles, but far enough away that there is only silence at night. The villa itelf is expansive, the kitchen excellent, and while we didn't use it, there was a very impressive fireplace that I imagine would be terrific as well. There was plenty of room for kids to run around the yard as well.

You can catch a bus to Aix en Provence (only a 10 minute trip) from the bus stop just 100m away, and there are plenty of villages within an easy drive to explore as well. Marie-Christine was a very generous host and gave us a very warm welcome. The villa can be a little difficult to find - if you're driving, the private driveway is right near the Renault garage, on the opposite side of the road. But once you find it, you most likely won't want to leave!

"We Loved This Place!"

We were three friends travelling together and we chose this place so we could each have a bedroom with a large bed, and plenty of room downstairs and outside. We also loved the Provençal look of the place, and discovered it had been built only a few years ago using many recycled products - an authentic look with the convenience of modern plumbing etc.

If yours is a driving holiday, the location is ideal - only 10 mins from Aix, and inside an hour of the Luberon's gorgeous villages. There is a great epicerie within walking distance, and a terrific French restaurant in Eguilles only a couple of minutes away by car. We only had three nights there, and so wished we had stayed a few days longer; Marie-Christine was delightful and, on arrival, provided us with Nespresso capsules, a box of a local specialty biscuit, a bottle of bubbly and a bottle of sparkling mineral water.

The entire place was spotless, and we would stay there again, and for longer, without any hesitation.
