The Kyrenia District

A rental villa in Kyrenia gives you the freedom to explore this fascinating old town at your own pace. Away from the harbour, the winding streets invite you to browse the intriguing local shops and dedicated museum in Kyrenia Castle, before climbing the castle ramparts for a bird's eye view of the town.

Under your feet, the limestone rock is cut into ancient catacombs, while every corner reveals a picturesque ruin or converted church, such as the one that house the glittering Icon Museum.

Wander amongst the atmospheric remains at Bellapais Abbey, with superb views over the coastline back to Kyrenia. Or simply relax on any of the uncrowded beaches within easy reach of Kyrenia town. Altinkaya beach, to the west, is ideal for families, with golden sands and shallow water, and easy driving access. Or experience the popular Acapulco beach to the east, a beach-lovers paradise of golden sands, water sports and a lively atmosphere, before watching baby turtles hatch during the summer breeding season at Alagadi Beach.

There are too many restaurants to mention, the majority are very high quality, most of the restaurants are signposted from the main road which is 5 mins drive from villa.

Edremit area

Situated in the Five Finger Mountains to benefit from cool breezes and wonderful views. Edremit is a small village halfway up the road to Karmi, and a lovely spot for a relaxing, stress-free villa holiday in North Cyprus.

Edremit - mountain views and smart beaches you can wander into the village to buy fresh local produce for your lunch from the small grocery shop or browse the village craft shop opposite the church, which has an impressive stock of traditional basketry-wares.

In the evening, pop down to the Hideaway Club hotel for a drink while watching the sun set, before dinner on their rooftop terrace. For more choice, drive or catch a taxi down the hillside to Karaoglanoglu, where you can shop in the local supermarket, or choose from a series of of restaurants along the sea front.

For a family day out by the sea, head for the Escape Beach Club, just a few minutes' drive along the coast road to the east. Here, mums can relax while the children play in the golden sand or paddle in the safe shallow waters. Older kids (including dad) will be eager to swim out to the Escape's own little island, or try out the water sports. There is always a cool drink available at the beach bar, and a light lunch to buy when hunger strikes.

For a relaxing day on a North Cyprus beach, drive your hire car from your holiday villa in Edremit right down onto Altinkaya Beach. The gentle sloping golden sands are ideal for younger children, who can paddle in safety. Active types need not feel left out though; the Amphora Scuba Diving school is based here.

Understandably in North Cyprus there are also many kebab restaurants serving traditional kebabs and meze.

Extreme sports fans may want to try paragliding from the mountain top. The paraglider can be seen flying over the villa approx every half hour this can be booked within Kyrenia Harbour as well as boat trips which offer full or part day excursions with food included. These leave daily from the harbour. You can also charter your own private boat.

How to get there

The nearest international airport is Ercan which is approximately 30 mins by car. Larnaca airport in the South is approx 75 mins from the villa by car. Either trip is comfortable as the roads are very good.

If flying to Larnaca, we would recommend hiring a car to be dropped off at the villa for you. We can arrange a local taxi to pick you up at the airport and drop you at the villa.

* A non refundable deposit of 20% will be requested on booking with the balance payable 8 weeks before your holiday.
* A security deposit of £500 is required, this will be refunded in full upon a satisfactory property inspection upon departure.
* Refunds cannot be made for cancellation after final balance as been paid.
* Strictly no smoking indoors, however ashtrays are provided for guests to smoke outside.
* Child friendly subject to adult supervision.
* Maximum number of people in the villa not to exceed 10, villa for sole use of paying guests.
