About the home

There is a lift to this fifth floor apartment which sleeps 6-8 people in three bedrooms. Visitors coming by car are able to use a designated parking space in a secure car park. The accommodation has been totally refurbished and redecorated with great thought and flair to make this an extremely comfortable base for any visitor.

A central hallway has rooms radiating off it, giving the apartment an agreeable sense of space. The large living room offers views down to the square below and over to Holyrood Park in the distance. There is plenty of comfortable seating and personal touches which make this a very pleasant room in which to unwind. A flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD Player and a good selection of books, CDs and DVDs, and games have been provided to ensure that there is plenty of “in house” entertainment. There is WiFi access in the apartment as well as a telephone for incoming and local and national calls.

The apartment is usually ready for 3pm and should be vacated by 11am on the morning of departure. However early arrival or late departure can often be arranged. Guests arriving after 6pm can collect keys from a central location.

Minimum bookings of 2 nights.
3-night bookings only for Rugby weekends, Bank Holidays and July.
Weekly bookings only during August and for New Year.

Edinburgh offers a wide range of activities as befits Scotland's capital city and is wonderful to visit at any time of year; it is small and intimate enough to allow the visitor to wander through its streets absorbing its architecture and atmosphere.

The city has mediaeval origins and many of its best known sights are to be found in the Old Town around the Royal Mile. It also, by contrast, has one of the largest areas of Georgian buildings in the world and these are to be found in what is called the New Town.

The Edinburgh / Royal Mile area

The Royal Mile runs from Edinburgh Castle at one end down to Holyrood Palace at the bottom. Many of Edinburgh’s major tourist attractions are to be found in this vicinity though half the charm of this vibrant part of town is to explore the city’s ancient mediaeval closes which lead off the main thoroughfare.

This area with its mediaeval origins also extends to the Grassmarket and Victoria Street which have an array of enticing shops, bars and restaurants. Visit Gladstone's Land, Holyrood Abbey and Palace (not forgetting the Queen's Gallery which hosts exhibitions from the Royal Collection), Dynamic Earth, the controversial Scottish Parliament building and John Knox's House, which are all within a short walk of the apartment.
