Adjacent is Port Edgar Yacht Club and Marina, and the wonderful cobbled streets and terraces of South Queensferry village make for a magical location-yet all this is a mere 10 to 15 minutes from the centre of Edinburgh and all its unique history and attractions. South Queensferry is an almost magical waterfront village with its cobbled streets and raised terraces almost like going back in time.
If you have ever seen the Hollywood movie Brigadoon with the mythical Scottish village that appears out of the mist only every 25 years ............ well with the twinkling village lights and the still waters of the Firth at night !
The Edinburgh / South Queensferry area
The oldest church still in use in the whole of Scotland is a mere 300m from Shore Road - Priory Church of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel originally founded in 1330 !
Hopetoun House - 'Scotland's Finest Stately Home'- is also only 2 miles away , whilst St. Andrew's , the home of golf, and the Open Championship course of Muirfield are both but a relatively short distance away. Yet all this is a mere 10-15 min from the centre of Edinburgh.
