We proudly introduce you to the Penthouse, a chic bolt hole on the Royal Mile. A sense of calm envelopes you as you enter this fabulous property. Every room is a delight, with design attention to detail second to none.

The property features a spacious open plan living/dining area, with comfortable chairs and sofas you can relax into after a day's sightseeing. There are 3 bedrooms - bedroom one has a double, bedroom 2 a zip and link which can be singles or a king and the Master a King bed. The master bedroom also has an en-suite.

There is a delightful balcony area with a table to seat 2 where you can breakfast or enjoy an evening drink admiring the fabulous Edinburgh views. The kitchen features all mod cons and if you fancy a night in, it is perfect for cooking so you can settle down for the evening and take advantage of the superb accommodations on offer (or use our chef service so you don't have to lift a finger!).

The communal building has a lift up to the fourth floor but there are some stairs from the front door up to the apartment.

The Lothians region

126 High Street is situated on the Royal Mile, Edinburgh's oldest thoroughfare stretching from Edinburgh Castle to Holyrood Palace. The property is located approximately half way between the castle and the palace. No 126 spans Stevenlaw's Close named after Steven Law, a supporter of Mary Queen of Scots during the Scottish Civil War of 1571-1573. Bonnie Prince Charlie also worshipped at the Roman Catholic Chapel here.

Other famous residents of Stevenlaw's Close include:- James Wilson (aka “daft Jamie”), a victim of the famous West Port murderers Burke and Hare who killed to supply cadavers to Dr Robert Knox for dissection in his anatomical lectures. James was a well known figure in the town and his murder and recognition led to the eventual downfall of Burke and Hare. Also, Allan Masterton, the composer of the music for many of Robert Burn's songs.

There is a wealth of Edinburgh street life right on the doorstep. The street outside is closed to traffic and one can expect to see pipers, jugglers, musicians and street actors throughout the year. Edinburgh Fringe headquarters is right downstairs so festival visitors can be in a prime position in the queue for booking shows and tickets. Princes Street and the majority of Edinburgh's theatres and venues are a maximum 10 minute walk away.

There are a number of excellent Scottish restaurants within a short walk from the apartment, including:The Tower, Angels with Bagpipes, Ondines, Wedgwood. Some of Edinburgh's Michelin starred restaurants are only a short taxi ride away, including: Restaurant Martin Wishart, The Plumed Horse and The Kitchin.

Waverley station is a five minute walk away although the route is uphill and a taxi might be preferable with luggage. The airport is about half an hour away by bus or taxi. The airport bus which stops at Waverley costs approximately £5. A taxi from the airport costs approximately £25.

"Great location and style and size apartment, expensive to rent though."
