The situation in the centre of the New Town provides a very comfortable stay for Festival visitors with easy access to theatres and galleries without the necessity for a car in the city.

The Central Scotland/Edinburgh region

There are many historical sites within in Edinburgh and the surrounding areas as well as lots of green areas of parks, golf courses, hills and beaches. Edinburgh's climate is never extreme bcause of the surrounding hills and the River Forth and the average temperature varies from 7C to 20C.

There are too many places of interest to mention and buying a guidebook to Edinburgh is recommended.


Edinburgh / Edinburgh New Town area

Edinburgh has many Galleries, Museums, Historical buildings, the Castle, the Royal Mile and large estates in the surrounding areas. There is a very large choice of restaurents and several theatres and cinemas for entertainment. There are many places of interest for children, including Edinburgh Zoo.The City has cycle paths and a canal for alternative means of transport through the city.
There is a small public park at the end of Royal Crescent.

There are also several festivals held throughout the year, but the main Edinburgh International Festival is held in August with cultural groups from all over the world performing in the main theatres.
