The Lothians region
Edinburgh is an inspiring place. From the windy streets and closes of the old town to the Georgian grandeur of the new town, Edinburgh makes for a varied and vibrant experience all year round. It is also an ideal base from which to explore the central belt of Scotland, with its charming coastal villages, beaches and the rolling hills of the Pentlands.
There are many ways to see this great city, with a host of walking tours, bus tours and the infamous ghost tours. Among the top attractions are the Royal Mile, Edinburgh Castle, St. Giles Cathedral, Holyrood Palace, Arthurs Seat, but there are many, many more!
Cumberland Street is a very pretty quiet little street forming part of Edinburgh's celebrated New Town, it is perfectly situated for easy access both to the city centre and to the charming and popular Stockbridge area, which offers a host of boutique shops, bars, independently run cafes and restaurants. The weekly farmers market which runs every Sunday from 10am to 5pm is an increasingly popular local attraction and a perfect place to pick up some gourmet treats during your stay.
